magnus’s “i have just been kissed by alex fierro” is of course hilarious if he’s realizing it just at this moment. but like. throughout the books he’s already aware? he gets flustered when around alex regardless of what gender he is, he knows he’s into him. he describes male characters as attractive. he has relative knowledge of queer experience, having met other queer kids while in shelters or on the streets, always growing as he talks more with alex and other people and learns more about the world and himself. the fruity edge line. magnus's "i am absolutely great about that" was the culmination of a journey he's been on for a long time, perhaps more subtle than that of nico di angelo but still important. this was a point he reached !! this state of comfort and ease with himself and his identity and being was something forged over time !!!

I don't remember finding fart jokes particularly funny even when I was a child.

Five year old me, watching a movie with fart jokes: "Oh, how gauche. They're pandering to the lowest common denominator."

and do you think tim knows? do you think clark knows? that dick was marked for death and kon died in his place? do you think both of them find out and are immediately struck by sickening all-consuming guilt and shame because deep down, between the two of them, if it had to be one of them...they're both relieved it wasn't dick.

Just so we’re clear, if I point out that you did something racist, that’s not the same as me thinking you’re irremediably terrible. You did a racist thing.

You think you don’t do racist things, homophobic things, etc? You do. I caught myself in fat phobic and homophobic lines of thinking/speech just this morning. I’m fucking gay married. Nothing disqualifies you from acting in a way that reflects the society you exist in. We are obliged to fight it. Why not fight it in honesty and with camaraderie?
