okay so I researched a bit to make sure and I THINK I got it right. the Wendigo lore definitely sounds more accurate than the Wechuge lore (especially with the fact that the wendigo is more crazed hunger (def Blake in this au) and the wechuge is more cunning intelligence (which is not how the creature works in this au), plus the fact that the wechuge is linked with too much power, and that just doesnt line up with the lore I have). as for the design, I mainly based it on the humanoid deer depiction but cat version, and atp I have no clue if that one's a Wechuge or a Wendigo because every source online is saying something different. overall, I think I've been naming it correctly, so yay!!!
TECHNICALLY the deer creature is more the westernized wendigo, but at least the lore is right. You know the wendigos from Dying Light? Those are pretty accurate to more traditional actual wendigos
yeah I thought so. I remember there being a lot of discussion about how the wendigos from games like Dying Light and Until Dawn are the more accurate wendigos, I just personally like the design of the westernized wendigo more, and I thought I'd have a bit more creative freedom with it (then the cat skull idea came along and that was that). thanks for the fact check!!!
