i was really looking forward to this project however one massive issue came up. firstly i was looking forward to this project as i wanted to gain some incite into how work in the animation industry actually is, with being told what to do and animating to someone elses standards, im not going to enter the animation industry as a director/producer, so this would be a great chance to see what it would be like. BUT there was the huge issue was that i could only put in 17 hours, the 3rd year i was working for didnt have any more work required of me and despite asking no other 3rd years needed help. and so i couldnt gain the required 30 hours of experience of working for someone.Â
this project also gave a good opportunity to test out my 3D modelling and animating. i didnt have to design the spaceship so i just had to focus on making it 3D, it did require some redesigning with an added door but the director was happy with both the model and the speed of making it. it was also the first time i had a 3D model interact with another, i realized very quickly that 3D models move through eachother and dont simulate physics so when making the spaceship and satellite interact i spent time making them touch but not mush into each other, if i was going to use 3D for 2D for later animations, which i plan to do, learning about this issue is important to do sooner than later. furthermore i wasnt the one making the colours for the model, another assistant would making a texture layer for my model and then fine tune the animations, so i enjoyed the experience of not only working on the model for the director but for the other person working on it.
