Life drawing practice while waiting for the next splash art. 🎨 As I mentioned before, this splash art is my main project right now, so I've been doing targeted exercises to refine my process and prepare. As you can see from the remaining sketch lines, this one focuses on building the character from the skeletal structure up. PS: More illustrations coming soon! :)

Some life drawing 🌙
I've been doing life drawing as part of my hand recovery for several years now, and the group I go to will do long poses every couple of months, so for the last one I was able to make I brought my good gouache paints and a nice sheet of arches paper and spent the time on a zoomed in portrait:
It was extremely fun and challenging and I can't wait to do it again!
After going hard on big scenes for the first half of the year, i think the rest of 2026 will have me working on my character art skills - more studies, more urban sketching, more practice working from my mind, etc. do y'all have favourite references for how to push this skillset father?
A lovely morning lifedrawing
The Storey in Lancaster used to be an art college, so it is an excellent building to do a mornings art. The light in the old lecture theatre is very good. The model was a joy to draw she kept so still.
