Tessa nodded at her reply, and didn’t ask further on about that location. She’s been on the road with Lunar for a while now; part of her already trusted her. Though the bad feeling was still there, she tried her best to fight it off. “My story?” she asked back, a little surprised. Was she ready to talk about her story? “My story is dark,” she replied shortly, in attempt to close the topic fast, but after everything, the least she could do is to explain to the one person she’s on the run with. “I’ll tell you on one condition,” she turned her head away from Lunar, and got her eyes focused on the passing nature, and the way it was snowing. “They want my power. They created a powerful monster and now they are afraid their creation will turn against them,” she explained. She didn’t want to get in details, but she thought this would tell enough for Lunar to understand. “I mean…they should be scared. They are not wrong. But it will take a while,” she added while she slowly turned her attention back on Lunar. She looked at her face expression, she tried to read any emotions that showed up. “And yours? What happened with you?” she asked her. This was her one condition.
lunar listened quietly, “dark” a selfish sting in her stomache came up from that word. –at least she wasn’t the only one, she thought to herself. lunar turned her head slightly towards tessa but still made sure she glanced back at the road every now and then. “power, monster” it was hard for an outsider to understand fully what she meant, but her gut feeling told her, tessa wasn’t in the wrong in this. she of all people could understand how unfair this world could be and how people selfishly use other’s for their own benefit. –she quickly turned her head back to the road as soon as tessa glanced back at lunar. “ah..” lunar swallowed. “i’m..uh..i’m sorry.” lunar cringed slightly at herself, not knowing what else to say. “so what is your plan?” she asked, before she got asked about her story herself. a topic she would love to avoid. –she knew it was gonna come, and it only seemed fair after tessa opened up. lunar cleared her throat “well..” her hands would tighten around the steering wheel. “i did something terrible..something unforgivable, and they are after me to punish me for it.” she scoffed slightly in disbelief. “i’m not really sure why i run away from them..” i deserve any punishment that comes my way; she thought to herself. “but someone very important to me, told me to live..so-” she nodded slightly while glancing back at tessa.
While waiting for a reply, Tessa decided on focusing on the road ahead of them again. She realised staring at someone could pressure them; as it pressured her when someone stared. She just slightly nodded her head when she said sorry, not really knowing how exactly she could react to it. Upon hearing her words about her story, she just side eyed her for a moment, then she looked down to her lap to look at her hands. Tessa didn’t really know where to put the punishment; the only thing she knew that her definition for it was a bit different than hers, but that didn’t mean Lunar’s wasn’t equally bad. She wanted to say something helpful, positive or show much more reaction but suddenly the words got stuck in her throat, and she found it hard to find her voice. “That someone was right,” she just said after a few seconds of silent. She was biting her lip, and opened and closed her mouth before she finally spoke. “Isn’t it enough punishment that you exiled yourself from them?” she asked. Would they torture Lunar too? Would they kill her because of what she did? - a lot of questions passed through her mind mainly connected how her kind of people would react. Tessa did a lot of bad things; even if it wasn’t even a big deal she got punished for it..but so did she think she deserved it. No matter what. “And about a plan..i have no plan,” she replied shortly, turning the topic more likely to what will be in the future. As she hated talking about her past, she felt like Lunar was the same. “I just want to get as far as i can from them. For now. People like me won’t live that life they would deserve, but the least i could do is revenge what they took from me. But not yet,” she explained more openly. She knew she won’t find that happiness she would deserve anytime soon, maybe never - so all her plan was to revenge everything they did to her. To end the torture for good. “Do you have anything planned perhaps? How long are you going to go with the running?” she asked with curiousity. The path in front of Tessa was blurry, unknown. She had no destination. She could already even see her part ways with Lunar as she didn’t know what to expect.Â
