The symptoms of mental illness donât necessarily ever go away and I wish more people understood that part of it. My mind isnât much quieter than when I entered treatment but I have developed the skills to handle the noise without destroying myself.
Louder for the people in the back!

đCalm Harmđ
I refuse to believe that no one is talking about this app. Itâs absolutely amazing and has helped me so fucking much that I felt the need to pass it along to other people in need. đ
đThis is Calm Harm! An app that helps self-harmers, like myself, manage and resist the urge to harm themselves. It requires minimal information and is password protected! Allow me to show you around!
When you first open up the app, you are greeted with this! Just click a country and move on. You may even lie about it if youâre worried. đ¤đ˝
The next screen is where you set up your password and a memorable word that you can use in case the password is forgotten!
Here you may enter in personal information, but itâs completely optional! And even if you do choose to enter in the information, you will remain completely anonymous and the information entered should not be used against you! đđđ˝đ
You can choose cute little characters!! đđđ
Feeling as if youâre going to self-harm? Do you feel a self destructive urge? Ride the wave! đ
Ride the wave using one of these methods! Need a distraction?
BAM!!
And the best part is? Say youâre family likes to snoop through your phone. Say you arenât âoutâ about your self-harm. Say you donât want people to find out about you having this app.
Not even trip! Since the app is password protected,
Itâll lock every time you leave the app!
Please stay safe guys and please donât hurt yourselves! Give the app a try, it might just help đđ

Y'all better take that energy into 2020 and stop playing
#BootUp2020
in case anyone thinks this means âtoughen upâ Those boot covers are tools. those spikes arenât an inherent part of the boots your friends, your family, meds if you need them, therapy, healthy life changes when you can, these things are your boots get your boots on and climb those stairs at your own pace, aka: Boot Up, Bitches! Weâre making 2020 the year we recover
fyi there is no such thing as âgetting back on trackâ after the holidays because you were never âoff trackâ you were simply living life because you are a human being and you deserve that
I needed this

Stop lying to your therapist
Tell her about ed
Show her your poetry
Cry
Be honest
Ask for what you want
Be blunt and crude
Stop lying
You need help
And that doesnât
[reminder @ myself]
Feeling the need for control.
Choose recovery. That proves true control.
Skinny/underweight things you didnât think about
is your restrictive eating disorder telling you itâs gorgeous, amazing and the ultimate goal to be as skinny and light as possible, underweight? it isnât. hereâs some things you might not realise:Â
youâll have difficulties with pooping! your digestive system is gonna get fucked upppp
think youâll finally fly up the stairs without being out of breath? well your body is gonna feel like itâs gonna shut down when you reach the top, thereâs no energy left to walk up the stairs
youâll feel your heart in your chest which makes you anxious to go to sleep every night, thinking it will shut downÂ
you wonât be able to hold a normal conversation, your brain doesnât have the capacity to deal with all that. youâll be zoning out all the time (and honestly the only thing on your mind is food anyway)
you wonât be living anymore, every moment is just waiting for the next meal. every day will be filled with the same repetitious stuff: waiting for the food you allow yourself, work-outs (if thatâs your thing), thinking about food, looking at food (maybe on insta or in youtube videos), shivering and sleeping and then it starts again
youâll still be wanting to loose more weight! forever being dissatisfied with the way you look! it will never be enough!Â
your body wonât necessarily look like an insta model or âthinspoâ. my ass was completely GONE and my stomach always was a lil soft, no matter how underweight i was and how much i trained
you will always notice that other people are noticing somethingâs wrong. You will notice them staring (not the jealous or appreciative kind), you will feel their worry or sadness, you will feel the awkwardness around you alllllll the time
youâll be sore or in pain most of the day: sitting hurts, lying down hurts, all your bones are sore
think youâll be the prettiest and thinnest in school/uni/work? what school/uni/work? you think you can be in school/uni/work? no! you wonât have the concentration to pass your classes, youâre too preoccupied with food & your body, you have no energy to get through a working week, and if you suffer from anxiety and/or depression, those might get worse too! sooner or later youâll have to take a break from whatever occupation, isolating you furtherÂ
anything you think youâll do better or more confident when youâre thin is a lie: youâll loose your passion or interest in your hobbies, youâll loose your energy, and confidence isnât built by the way you look (especially when youâll still feel bad about yourself anyway, thatâs why eating disorders are DISORDERS).Â
thin and brittle hair & nails, blue toes & lips, eyebags for days
emotions flatten, so youâll be enjoying things lessÂ
your personality changes: you become secretive, impatient with others when it doesnât go your way, and even real mean when it comes to food: angry and defensive when food isnât there on time, or when people try to make you eat
Moral of the story: restricting yourself isnât the answer to what youâre experiencing and feeling. Consider reaching out to whatever help you can find, and be honest to yourself. It is Never too early to recover; you donât have to be skinnier or âsickerâ to seek out help, banish that thought!! your ED will steal YEARS of your life if you let it. Donât fall for its tricks, and donât romanticize the consequences.Â

Something personal today: I am officially three years into recovery now. The photo on the left was taken exactly 3 years ago. I still remember how I thought my thighs were still too fat back then. Later that day I had a huge fight with the most important person in my life (my mom â¤ď¸) and the fear of loosing her because of what anorexia was doing to me finally gave me the strength to fight this disorder. Iâm proud of how far Iâve come these past two years and grateful for the people that helped me at my lowest (kisses to the hubby). It was hard, both emotionally and physically but it was so sO SO worth it. Iâm putting this out there for everyone whoâs struggling right know. You can do this, one day at a time, one meal at a time and soon days turn to weeks and weeks to months. Just remember: YOU ARE WORTH IT â¤ď¸ AND YOU ARE MORE THAN A NUMBER ON THE SCALE!
Reason #1734
I want to recover to build healthier relationships with food
