yo why do adults try to tell middle schoolers not to dye their hair or cut it weird or dress strange. Middle school is the most miserable time of anyone’s life, let them have fun and get a mohawk or something. They don’t have colleges to impress or a boss to worry about. They’re 12. Let them be less miserable with their blue hair and bad fashion (so long as it’s weather appropriate! I don’t want anyone wearing only a tshirt and jeans in winter!!!) It won’t kill you to let your kid exercise some control over their appearance that literally will not follow them their whole lives. Who cares if your kid wants to wear unprofessional clothes. They’re a kid, they don’t need to be professional.

recently saw a tiktoker talk about an ongoing case and say (direct quote) “we are literally watching a true crime documentary unfold before our very eyes” and that really sums up a lot of the criticisms I have about the way people talk about and consume true crime content. people are already twisting real peoples deaths into its potential future entertainment value for them before the family even has time to grieve

Movie studios make films about Princess Diana and heavily insinuate that the royal family had a direct hand in her death like.... You think this has nothing to do with you?

Like there is a weird pattern where the media and fans try to find a scapegoat for a famous person's death and completely overlook the parr THEY played in it. Lady Di was literally chased to death by paparazzi. Make of that what you will.

Even the Britney Spears thing... Of course her family is evil and ruined her life but let's not act like the media painting her as this crazy person and hounding her for years and years isn't an integral part of what happened to her.
