Tony holding eye contact with Thor while he talks him down is so important. He’s like “I’m here. I see you. I get it but I’m not letting you do this.” Tony and Bruce have been on that ledge and have had to talk themselves down; they won’t let Thor do the same.

#i like this moment a lot#it’s a classic mcu moment when the payoff for something that was set up in a comic way helps defeating the villain#but i like the implication here#namely that tony knows about the icing problem bc he pushed the suit to its limits#tried to get higher and higher and higher#always improving#always wanting more#going straight to the skies#meanwhile obie lacks tony’s vision and creativity#(‘TONY STARK WAS ABLE TO BUILD THIS IN A CAVE! WITH A BOX OF SCRAPS!’)#he mistankenly assumes he could get one over tony by stealing his tech#but he failed to realise tony’s strenght lies in his brightness and his creative and boundless spirit

You ever think about how Bruce’s whole story arc went from everyone thinking he was only capable of destroying things to he literally rebuilt the universe when everything got destroyed? Bc I think about that a lot.
