Interesting. Bad first book choice.

Not the kind of book to go in blind.

Liked the art.

Was confused why character faced kept changing.

Learned later it was because he slowly made this through our 10 years.

Speech balllons were confusing. Their would be eternal thoughts, external speech, narrator and multiple characters speaking. But their often wasn't a clear dilemination between the two.

Like sometimes the speech would have the little line to indicate, other times it wouldn't.

I feel like this would be an easy fix before publication. Cause it just made it annoying to read.

Same with the word vomit. Maybe it's translation, different culture, reference, too intelligent for me. But some dialogue would throw a salad of words at me with no context and no clarification of what any of it means. Like when you watching a medical show and their doing doctor speech.

And just like I. Those shows, my eyes glazed over and I simply nodded.

So essentially the art was the saving grace of this book. The story was Psychedelic and nonsensical. The dialogue when not being funny or philosophical was annoying.

It's my first ever morbios book.

Im 103 pages in.

I started reading 'the goon' it was an extra burrow from hoopla.

I don't know if I like it yet or not.

I enjoy the art style.

And the story is funky along similar lines to the original umbrella academy comic book.

I liked the finale gag with the pizza man

The biggest distractors is I'm not a fan of the dialogue or more gory aspects.

But I think that's more a personal preference issue.

I dislike even mild gore.

But it's so far a good book. But I got 400 pages to read so let's see were this goes.

its amusing cause last issue I had a great time. Anything out of date was so in a fun way.

Maybe I'm just in a prissy mood.

Maybe if I ever read spawn I'd truly hate it.

But damn Stan is annoying me with his writing. This is a comic book not a novel.

For 4th place we have the money mongroul j.jonah Jameson and the bully flash.

yes their awfully, but their suppose to be awfully. So the narrative validates my feelings.

It's like getting punched in the face and I go

"you just punched me" and they reply with

" yes I did"

Like it sucks to be punched but at least were both awknowledging it.

Vs

"you punched me in the face"

"no I didn't"

"yes you did"

"no, in fact I hugged your face"

" you"

" I invented world peace. That was it's creation. A very gentle creation"

" I have a bloody nose"

" and I have a sore fist, I don't see how those two a related"

Number 3 is liz with her switcheroo obsessive fawning.

Yeah she's defending Peter now, nice. But I haven't gotten far enough in to know if this is an actuall character change or a phase she's going through and she truly remains shallow.

So it's a wait and see sitch.

Number 2 petty tsundare jealousy wow is me betty.

You know the denial of the punch in the face.

I just have very little patience for petty romance drama and Betty/Peter is peak that. Everytime peters not looking at Betty he's obviously thinking of another girl and she doesn't matter, and oh look he's talking to a girl, he must obviously love her. And than the games with the cold shoulder and remarks Stop it. Just stop it.

If you like someone ask them out, untill than you have no say or right in their dating life. and it's every issue with these two. (To give you a clue, I hate ross and Rachel, love monica and chandler and these two are giving ross and Rachel in terms of repetitive relstionship drama, no I don't want the two together cause I don't even like them being in the same panel)

And number 1 most annoying character

But the reason why she shot to number 1 is this panel.

I know it's 1965, but I can't divorce a character from the ideals of their times while reading when their character is a reflection of the times

This isn't a permanent placement, I know how comics will work. Betty and liz will fade and Betty often gets aged up out of peters range. And Aunt May will get better, and I know Aunt May says this but this was never mj.

But I also can't change how I feel about characters with their current presentation.

And right now marvels bull pen is filled with white middle aged men who full heartily believe this and it shows sometimes.

ive been reading this panel by panel so I can't spot ahead for spoiler.

I don't know, probably the lack of a changing panel.

Personal fan of whenever they write spider-man to be a bit more mischievous during his crime fightin.
