my parting thought for the evening is that i think if i'm taylor i would find it really difficult to take constructive criticism from reviewers at this point, which is actually something she's done really well over the course of her career. it's got to be frustrating to take in good faith every single critique of TTPD (producers, instrumentation, album length, tempo, lyricism, mood/vibe, drama/gossip factor), apply it, and then be told that what they wanted was actually another TTPD, and not this thing they'd specifically asked for. and i think that is really hard, because where else is she supposed to take her cues?
