Qiu pedalled on his bike down the streets of Golden Grove. It was late at night, and still there were no signs of seeing the familiar mop of dark brown hair in the cul-de-sac. He lost count of how many times he had been back and forth on the same streets where they grew up together since 10.
Felis didn't bring anything with her. Not even her own wallet with money and ID card, clothes or her phone.
It almost looked like she took off without wanting anyone to know where she is, as if she was "erasing" herself from existence and it made his heart sting with guilt.
It was ironic, he thought.
Back then, it was Qiu who tried to run away, to escape Golden Grove. Felis was the one who was determined to tear down every streets until she found him, walking down on the side of the road out of town, just a few minutes away from hitchhiking and ready to leave Golden Grove forever without sparing another look behind him.
Oh ho, he will never forget the way she chased him down the street like a moose charging down through the woods in her oversized pajamas with a jacket to shield her from the cold night air and sneakers while threatening to throw a punch at him square in the face if he doesn't stop and talk to her what's wrong with a mix of anger and worry in her voice.
Oh, how he was blinded by his own resentment and anger, running away from someone who cared about him deeply. It was infuriating.
He will never forget how Felis lunged at him and tackled him mid-chase the moment he slowed down to catch a breath, rolling down the orange leafy hill and pinning him down. He would looked up to her, wanting to resist and squirm out of her hold, but he saw something within her aquamarine eyes. Something in her eyes that told him to stay and calm down despite her being angry and tired, she was frightened for him. And yet, she didn't give up on him.
"Let's go home together, Qiu." He remembered her holding his hand, guiding him back home like a guardian angel.
He shook his head to get rid of the fatigue as he continued pedalling on his bike. The night was cold and empty with silence with the police sirens going off in the near distance from where he was.
He's not going to give up on the search until he found his Elis.

Disclaimer: I've changed my MC's origin story 😂 My OLBA and OLNF MC's are twins and both are adopted. Now my ramblings will make more sense, I hope.
Anyways.
So, Ai and Micha are both mixed, but they do have some Chinese in their heritage and they do celebrate it more or less privately and by themselves until their respective friends are introduced into their lives. Even then, it's not something that they really make a big deal out of - mostly because their culture's are a source of sadness for them, since it reminds them of their first family (of which they lost in a car accident when they were around 4yo).
For Micha, he found himself surprisingly comforted to find out Qiu and him share at least one similar culture, it helps him feel a little less alone in a place that he already feels like a complete outsider in. So he cherishes each new year, it's a time that he always reserves a special date for him and Qiu. They always know where to find each other when the night comes and even if they do nothing else but talk and eat moon cakes, it's always the best part of his year.
SOO PRETTY.. the blue specs of light. the warm glow on their faces. qiu often feels out of place because of their identity so its really cute to see someone whos like them <3
Nairi hadn't ever really thought about dancing or ballet before meeting Qiu, since it was unlikely their family would have the money for that.
But as soon as they found out it was one of Qiu's hobbies, they decided that he also wanted to take classes, as it was one of the few things Qiu did by himself, without Baxter or Darren with him! And any extra time that was just the two of them was great in Riri's opinion~!!
Nairi ends up loving it just for itself too, of course. It's a good way to, as he says "ground themself"~ But more than anything, Riri just really, really wants to dance with Qiu, in practice, in recital, for fun, doesn't matter~

Not long after this photo was taken, Opal and Priya moved to US. Opal had many reasons to do so, her parents being the main one. She couldn't tell that to Priya, the kid is very attached to their family, even if they hadn't been in touch for years now. I also think that Opal is a late child from a wealthy-ish family. So, picture a traditional pair that has money and a bad attitude, that's them. (i'm not good with lore explanation)

I tried making their outfit with mixture of pants/long skirt (however you guys want to prefer ;] ) combining with qipao as a topwear [lots of modernised vibes HAHA]
And a white fur coat as an add-on to the vibe
The pattern on Qiu's topwear is a dragon (They're born in the year of the Dragon (2000) so I thought why not make it dragon pattern)

For Tammy, I went for a German Dirndl!
Most of the colour scheme was taken inspiration from her Step 3 pink dress and red scarf
The bow on the left side of her dirndl apron meant "I'm single and ready to mingle" (sources from the Internet and I hope I'm not wrong /_\)

(I'm Chinese myself so Qiu is more easier for me to headcanon a lot of stuff very sorry /_\)
Qiu would go back to their parents' hometown to visit their relatives during Lunar New Years and sends back a lot of pictures to their friends to show off the food and red packets they received from relatives HAHAHAH (I'm betting that their relatives would call him "小秋" which means "Little Autumn")
This kid gotta memorize how to address his extended relatives like... LITERALLY IT'S ENDLESS WHEN YOU HAVE A HUGE FAMILY (I'VE PLAYED THESE GAMES BEFORE)
I feel like Qiu would be okay with speaking Chinese (Their parents would probably converse in Chinese at home sometimes when it's just them)
Would be the kind of person who says "Happy Lunar New Year" to their friends when it's officially New Years at midnight and bring back souvenirs and snacks from their hometown to share with their friends eheh

Has a habit of hanging lost things on the trees while she's strolling in the forest (In Germany, it is believed that hanging lost items on the tree will help people find their things again)
Tammy would dance a lot with her Opa and Omi (Especially during Step 1 where she's very optimistic)
Tbh Tamarack is the kind of kid who would literally go crazy with Christmas and the Christmas markets (I read a source about German's traditions with Christmas markets and looked at Tammy's Step 1 Halloween outfit, yes it is no doubt that she's a huge fan of Christmas)
Sundays were her off-days with family and friends (Loud activities are not permitted in Germany on a Sunday, her grandparents would likely stick to the tradition as they chill)

honestly drawing tam and soren both playing their instruments was a no brainer for this one. id put in some more details but i really was rushing this LOL just a fun little thing to draw mindlessly.
