People who use terms that end in -queer or start with rad- (radqueer, cleanqueer, radnormal, etc) : these people are almost always discourse obsessed, in the case of radqueers and adjacents they often have very bigoted beliefs about race and disability, and adults in those communities are often seeking to abuse children. Non-radqueers that use these terms are usually ableist, paramisic, anti-endo, etc and also tend to harass others. They may also attempt to shame you into behaving the way they want you to. People in both these groups are only seeking to gain control over the behaviors of others and both groups are toxic.

People who are anything but anti-contact are a threat to you. Try to report them if you can. There is no reason to be anything but anti-contact as all it means is that you are against abuse.

People who talk negatively about kinks are usually also paramisic

Stay away from shipping discourse if you can, both sides are extremely toxic towards paraphiles and ableist

It can be a lot of things, but I'd say paraphilias mostly form the same as other sexualities do because paraphilias are sexualities, just stigmatized ones.

Some form from trauma, some form from exposure to paraphilic content, some just develop naturally, some people are born with them. As for figuring out how you have a paraphilia, that's up to you to define -- a paraphilia is just a sexuality/sexual interest that is considered "outside of the norm" by our society (and since our society currently only views gender-based attraction as "sexuality," a lot of things are considered abnormal or as secondary to gender-based attraction).

ome people reject the label of paraphilia and call their attraction a sexuality/sexual orientation, a kink, a fetish, etc. Some people identify as paraphiles because they have paraphilic disorders and feel the need to separate it from "healthy" sexuality. Some people (like me) identify as paraphiles because their sexual interest would cause harm if acted upon in real life.

It took me a while to realize and accept myself as a paraphile, simply because of the aggressively anti-paraphile mindset I was raised with; I thought paraphiles were inherently dangerous and out of control, so I couldn't be a paraphile because I had never harmed anyone and had no intention of doing so. Eventually I admitted to myself that some of my sexual interests were "abnormal" and not universal experiences, and I began questioning whether I was actually a paraphile.
