I’m not saying you have to stop hating incest shippers or whatever. god knows I don’t like people like that either. but what I am saying is that you need to stop focusing on it. you need to stop sending antagonistic anons to start fights where there are none, you need to stop hatereading just to encourage your own outrage, you need to stop sneaking into proship spaces like you’re some kind of middle school aged 4chan troll, just in general you all NEED to stop going out of your way to find more shit to be mad about. life is so much easier when you mind your business.

some of you are traumatized to the point of lashing out and I get it. some of you are just assholes and hey you know what I also get that! some of you are like me and you’re both traumatized AND assholes. whichever group you fall under, all of you need to realize that neither of those things are good excuses. they’re both traits that need to be worked on and improved; they are not static qualities you want to just accept about yourself.

like... seriously, to those of you who are traumatized and participating in this discourse, please stop. you’re hurting yourself so fucking BAD because the fact is that unsavory people who aren’t Technically directly hurting anyone are ALWAYS going to exist. by exposing yourself to them all you’re doing is triggering yourself because THEY WILL NOT GO AWAY. you have to set your boundaries and move on. it’s all you can do. please realize this.

I really can’t bring myself to write much more about this so I hope something of what I’ve said helps at least one person break out of this somehow. my experience with this fandom was incredibly volatile and took place during a time when I was dealing with massively unresolved trauma and you guys shouldn’t be admiring any of the aggro shit I did, you shouldn’t be reblogging my outdated blocklists, you shouldn’t be continuing the culture I left behind because it was bad and unproductive and incredibly diminishing of an interesting if sometimes upsetting subject that deserves to be discussed without all the fucking hostility. I regret and am sorry for a lot of what I’ve said and done during my time here and I’m frankly a little upset that some of it is still being used in this stupid fucking culture war I no longer want any part of.

I’m not an ex-anti or a proshipper or whatever. I still have many of the same opinions regarding this topic as I used to. I’m just exhausted and burnt out and hurt and I don’t want the same to happen to y’all because it WILL if you keep chasing these wild fucking geese.
