Many people with albinism have visual impairments due to a lack of pigment and related lack of development in their eyes! At the very least White is canonically light sensitive (see: the sunglasses he usually wears during outdoor excursions) but it’s my interpretation of the text that he also is quite nearsighted. Remember how bad he is at aiming the shrink ray? It’s not something the show touches on overly much, but I like to think it’s true, and that White is too vain to wear glasses (though he does own contact lenses. Probably with an out of date prescription.)
