Things I'm Trying to Finish

Yes, EIGHT, to get through 25g of this Crabtree&Evelyn cream. k bye.

I’m yet to grow past greedily grabbing the tiny toiletries from hotels, even though I am up to my ears in them, none of them are particularly good for your skin or hair, but all of them smell amazing. Also finishing one is source of immense happiness.

So I picked this up from the supermarket. It’s cheap, gets promoted often, promises to zap breakouts (my skin has decided to try the rebel teen look in my 30s), and supposedly works. Let’s see.

The very first of my Kamiya Cotton Paper from my crazy haul from a Japanese beauty store that was on final sale has finished. I liked this. I’m glad I got enough (ten to be precise, hence the ten life-ed cat, getit? getit?) to last me into a couple of my own lifetimes.

That is all! They also make you feel like you’re stock in a science-fiction-horror-show.

Look I haven’t done a recount since I posted this inventory of eye creams. I started with twelve, acquired at least four more, finished maybe six? I don’t know I can’t keep track anymore ... the point was that I finished one more ... the Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream that isn’t that wondrous actually and to be frank I’ve just reached a stage where I just want things to end. 

I am my own worst enemy.

Lately I’ve been obsessed with solid perfumes, and rose and Diptyque ... well Diptyque’s Rose Solid Perfume if I’m honest, so when the summer limited edition came out, I shelled out for it, even though the only limited edition thing about it is the cardboard box which I will eventually chuck ... one day ... maybe ....

I am not exactly sure why I got the eye masks, must be some order threshold. I vaguely remember reading good reviews, somewhere.

Finished my full sized Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist and have immediately repurposed the excellent mister for the Pixi Makeup Fixing Spray which while great at doing what it does, squirts onto your face rather painfully through the less than satisfactory pump.

I like the Queen of Hungary mist but as always I’ll hold off on a repurchase until I manage to make a dent in my inventory of other face mists of the same ilk.

Sometimes I remember that it’s better to go through my dragon-hoard of deluxe sized items, like this Alpha-H triple action cleanser, a decent morning / everyday face wash, which has now come to an end.

Alpha-H’s Daily Essential Moisturiser SPF50+ has been a summer staple for a while. I’ve even managed to run out of the 100ml supersize I got from Lookfantastic a while ago. While I’m tempted to immediately go and order a replacement, I think I need to spend some time layer normal moisturisers with standard sunscreen, mainly because I’m hoarding oh-so-very-many. 

I’ve finally finished the Grown Alchemist conditioner, which while nice can’t handle the desert like dryness of my hair. Time to dip into the Davines.

These are orphan products. Orphan because I have lost track of how I got them and I just found these randomly knocking about so I took a picture, put them in my inventory and that’s that. One would assume if one can’t keep track one has too many things?

Or when everyone is buying the same thing, there’s a good chance you won’t get your hands on it.

I’ve been intrigued by Le Metier De Beaute for a while, especially their kaleidoscopes, which are rotating magnetic stacks of eye or face colours (or both) which usually retail for a price I’m not willing to pay.

I stumbled across SpaceNK doing a clearance sale on the brand, The Kaleidoscope in ‘Exquisite’ was going for £20, creme lipsticks for £6 and other assorted items for other assorted prices that I wasn’t too interested in.

So I put the two in my cart, paid £5 for shipping because the bargain was more than worth it and merrily went on my way, until they emailed me to say the Kaleidoscope had sold out but they had shipped me the rest, i.e. I ended up paying the price of the lipstick in shipping #facepalm. 

But overall it was still only about $20 which is a good price for a good lipstick (and it is a good lipstick), which left me thinking maybe I should have ordered more shades?

When I got married, someone got me a clearance bin bath & body set from Victoria’s Secret, tried to rip the big red ‘50% Off’ sticker off it, ripped the packaging in the process (it was a cardboard hatbox style design) and then carelessly wrapped the ripped lid with a crumpled wrapping paper (which I was curious about so I removed to see what was under and the story above revealed itself). They obviously did not put their name on the gift. It was so bad I couldn’t even sell it on or give it to someone else. That I had spent over $100 per head to feed them saddens me a little.
