You know that friend? The one who is so authentic that you just know that if she’s passionate about a cause that she’s going to throw everything she has into it to make a difference? Laurie Stern , of @velvetandsweetpeaspurrfumery , the maker of some of the most beautiful botanical perfumes ever to be sniffed, is that friend. 😘 I’m so grateful to know her and I adore her. She’s a passionate conservationist and she uses her gift for creating amazing perfumes to make a difference for some of the most highly trafficked and illegally poached animals in our world. In her sights right now is the Pangolin, a bush animal brutally killed for its meat and scales. Her perfume, Pangolin Violette Rose is gorgeous in both its liquid and solid forms. I love wearing it. I mean this one can’t miss with me, with its sweet candied violet and deeply passionate base of rose, with enough of a twinkling of Jasmine to make me smile. The solid version seems a little greener ( think violet leaves and fern) on my skin and I really enjoy it during the day. Nighttime is where the perfume comes alive for me though… it’s sweet, rich and a little bit musky ( although Laurie wouldn’t be caught dead using a musk) think of scented gloves from the 17th century musky or velvet on skin, with a small bouquet of something delightful tucked innocently into a gracefully heaving bosom…💐because she only uses botanicals to weave her fragrant magic you can know for sure that what you are supporting is absolutely cruelty free and that makes it even more glorious. I’m blessed to count her as one of my dearest friends.
