i think the " kids shouldnt be using skincare " thing online really needs to be more specific. a 12 year old wants to use sunscreen and moisturiser ? sure, thats fine. when i was 12 i had a a moisturiser, sunscreen, lip balm ( i basically only used pawpaw ), and this shiny stuff that my nanna gave me ( i think it might have been a glowy primer ? im not sure, but it made me all sparkly so i liked it ). the problem is when kids use skincare thats not for them. ive seen so many videos of 11-13 year olds using retinol and various antiaging products. those are not for you. i saw a video recently that said " im 14 and these are all the steps im taking to slow down the aging process " and its like. you arent even done with puberty yet. you should not be worrying about getting wrinkles. you should not be worried about your skin aging.
i think its also important to talk about why theyre using certain products as well. you want to use sunscreen to protect your skin ? good for you ! you want to use sunscreen because you want to prevent wrinkles and dont want your skin to age ? thats a completely different story and its sad that a child is worried about things like that.
i also think that a lot of the reason that anti aging stuff is pushed to young people ( especially young girls, but its pushed to others too ) is because of pedophilic beauty standards designed to keep people looking as young as possible, but thats a conversation for a different post.
what im trying to say is, skincare isnt all bad for kids to use. it just depends on what theyre using and why theyre using it.

When it comes to skincare, there’s no one-size-fits-all. Some people swear by thick, buttery creams, while others can’t stand anything heavier than a light serum. But why do products even come in rich and light formulations? And more importantly, how do you know which one your skin truly needs?
Just found this now and I'm not lying when I say it had me legit cackling!!!! for 15 minutes straight!!!! Its so true though!!!

4 ways to look after acne in warmer weather ☀️
It seems that the sun has come out to PLAY lately in the UK! My family back home have been telling me how delightfully warm and summery the climate has been there, and that it’s bringing them one step closer to (hopefully) a normal summer season. But with changing weather comes changing skin concerns, and it can be a minefield to know how to adapt your skincare routine to deal with this. I’ll be doing a series on how to look after every skin type in hotter temperatures, starting with how to look after acne in warmer weather ☀️
1. Go easy on the moisturiser
It’s vitally important that those of every skin type moisturise to keep their skin healthy, but a careful balancing act needs to be struck if you have acne-prone skin. Combining moisturiser with a sunscreen in the warmer weather can leave you feeling like a hot, greasy mess, which is something we all want to avoid at every cost! You can either skip your moisturiser during the day if you’re using a nourishing sunscreen and go ahead with your usual night cream at night, or simply use a gel-based moisturiser for a fresher skin feeling.
2. Spritz away sun damage
If heavy, creamy sunscreens aren’t your thing, there are plenty of formulas on the market that are suitable for breakout-prone peeps. Garnier and Piz Buin have light face fluid sunscreens that are designed to feel non-greasy on the skin, or you can take your pick out of the numerous gel-based options Korean beauty brands have to offer. A mist-based sunscreen is also a fabulous way to quickly and effectively give your complexion the protection it needs, all while feeling absolutely weightless on your skin and make-up.
3. Use gentle products at night
After a full day of wearing sunscreen, it can be tempting to throw the kitchen sink at your face at night to get rid of any residue. But overdoing your skincare routine can actually make matters worse, and cause more inflammation and redness in the long run. Have a gentle double-cleansing routine at night, and limit active ingredients to the absolute minimum - pick only one serum or exfoliating toner to clear out your pores however often your skin is happy with.
4. Calm down with a mask
If, like me, you’re a lover of face masks, opt for ones that actively calm down and soothe your skin. Ingredients like green tea, chamomile and aloe vera are all great for reducing irritation, soothing sunburn and gently treating breakouts without exacerbating them. Many face masks available also have a cooling effect on the skin, which is great for those sticky, sweaty self-care nights! If you have no other strong ingredients or products in your skincare routine, you can also decide to use an exfoliating mask to deeply cleanse any built-up grime.
Stay tuned for part 2 soon, which will be about how to treat dry skin in the summer 💝
Hey guys,
I love trying out new skincare products and previously I mentioned how much I loved the Dr.Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Colour Correcting Treatment. It is such a good colour corrector and I have been using it as a primer and even a foundation using powder on top. Since then I started looking into the range more after needing another pot of the colour correcting treatment. So today I’m gonna be showing you some new products I got from the Dr. Jart+.
Like I said I ran out of the Cicapair Tiger Grass Colour Correcting Treatment and was looking for a replacement and I found a gift set that included in the colour corrector and more mini products I hadn’t tried yet. So that being said I picked up the Dr.Jart+ Cicapair Your First Trial Kit Skincare Gift Set £20.00. This skincare gift set contains the original Cicapair Tiger Grass Colour Correcting Treatment 15ml: the green-to-beige cream adapts to skin’s natural colour to neutralise redness and even-out skin-tone. Next up we have the Cicapair Tiger Grass Re.pair Serum 5ml : the lightweight watery gel serum soothes the look of redness and irritation and improve skin’s defenses against dryness. And lastly we get the Cicapair Tiger Grass Re.pair Cream 10ml : designed to help repair the look of skin experiencing irritation and redness. It’s the perfect starter set and I love the way the products perform together and individually.
I also picked up a full sized product and decided to try the Dr.Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Enzyme Foam Cleanser, 100ml £18.00. This was a product I knew I would use a lot so I decided just to get the full sized version. This cleanser is a mild foaming cleanser with hydrating glycerin that gently removes impurities. It honestly leaves your skin feeling so soft and it’s gentle on your skin so you can use it daily if you wish to. Since it’s a foam cleanser it’s really easy to use, toy simply massage gently over wet skin in circular motions, then rinse thoroughly off with warm water. It’s so easy yet really transforms your skin and especially helps with the redness on your complexion to even out and sooth the skin.
I love this range and found it’s really helped with my skins natural redness to not look as bright and overall smooth my skins appearance. I really recommend trying it out and if you want to see the range in person head over to John Lewis stores or they sell it on their site www.JohnLewis.com
Lots of love
