little miss automatically goes silent when something hurts her feelings
But this is wrong, nobody dies from lack of sex. It’s a lack of love we die from. There’s nobody here I can love
Margaret Atwood, The Handmaid’s Tale (via quotesfromall)
Just saw a TikTok where this bi woman was like,
‘I’m a woman-leaning bisexual and you know what pisses me off? The fact that I’m dating a skinny white man and I love him and I’m happy, like what the fuck.’
And I just have to say. What pisses me off as a bisexual woman is that TikTok.
This is the Woke version of ‘my wife is the ol’ ball and chain, doesn’t it suck to be married,’ jokes. It’s not funny. Your queerness is not negated or tarnished by opposite-gender attraction, dating men isn’t inherently worse than dating women.
Love your partner.
Cherish them.
For fucks sake.
So much this. I’ve had a rant building for a while and it looks like today’s the day.
I’m getting REAL SICK of that “bisexual means I’m attracted to all women and two men” joke. I’m getting equally sick of the implication, in a thousand ways, that men are bad and it’s inherently worse to be attracted to them. If you’re a woman or woman-adjacent and you fall in love with a man, there’s this horrible and easy-to-internalize idea that you’re taking the lesser option.
Like y’all. Y’all? You know that’s gender essentialist radfem bullshit, right?
If you didn’t, I’d like to gently suggest you consider the idea that “Men are problematic (read: sinful) and violent, women are pure, beautiful and loving” is just conservative Christian ideology in a gay hat. We are not advancing towards equality for all genders by flipping which end of the scale is The Bad One ™.
I’m bisexual. I make a point of talking about being queer (because it’s my identity and culture, and that’s important to me), and I present mostly in the androgynous area of the spectrum. People often assume I’m only/mostly interested in women.
That’s actually not true. I like all genders, but when it comes to specific people, I’m most often attracted to men. And it makes me sad – really, genuinely sad – how many times I’ve felt ashamed to talk about that. Even though I’m not a woman, liking a man has made me feel “not queer enough.” Hell, some days it still does.
I’m gonna say this, even though I know a lot of people won’t like it. And I will also say in advance that I am not accepting criticism and I don’t argue on the internet as a personal mental health policy.
That said, here is the statement: This too is a closet.
Anytime you’re ashamed to admit to liking someone because they’re the “wrong” gender, anytime falling in love is treated like a disappointment instead of a celebration, I don’t care who you are or who your partner is, that is a FUCKING CLOSET. And I would appreciate it if we could STOP PUTTING PEOPLE IN THOSE.
Honestly, shit like that should be seen for the relationship red flag it is.
If you’re a man, absolutely do not date someone who thinks their attraction or affection for you is something they ought to be ashamed of.
And regardless of your gender, avoid women who subscribe to the idea that women can do no wrong and are inherently pure and safe because holy fuck is that an easy and gaslighty shield to hide behind for abusers. I’ve heard a variation of that story too many times to think there’s not a correlation there.
Amen to that. And “it’s a joke” isn’t the excuse people think it is.
ppl be acting like being attracted to men is a disease
Hi I used to make these jokes too and it’s absolutely because of how fucking shitty the lgbtqia community has been towards bi women. I felt like I HAD to downplay my attraction to men in order to reassure people that I’m not straight.
That’s fucked up. Y'all need to observe your behavior and wonder if you’re contributing to the shit that makes bi women feel like they’re not good enough.
The idea of someone else not being able to keep their hands off my body is literally intoxicating
like sorry I just want to be desired

NORMAL PEOPLE Episode 6
it’s the 21st day of the 21st year of the 21st century.
you can only reblog this today.
not to dredge up old wounds and sound bitter but when I was 17 my dad died in a house fire and the very next week we had a huge geometry test I hadn’t studied for because of the whole House Fire Dead Dad situation so the extremely kind kid sitting next to me let me cheat from his test since the answers were multiple choice, but I was SO stressed about the whole House Fire Dead Dad situation I didn’t even notice we had different tests.
My teacher handed them back the next day with an obvious zero written on mine, and when I started crying in class he told me that’s what I get for cheating, in front of everyone.
Most things from my teenagehood I have let go, but if I ever run into this man in a grocery store I 100% will ask him what is problem was.
That said, I used to spend a lot of time grieving this girl who lost so much and who suffered so much under the rules of people like that teacher. I told my therapist that the tragedy of it all is that nobody ever came to save her and so she was never saved.
My therapist asked me why I saw her as separate from myself. I realized I felt that at some point between then and Adulthood, that girl had died, and I was mourning her death. All the time, I looked at photos of my younger self as if they were memories of a childhood friend I’d lost.
My therapist helped me understand and accept that she never died, she is me, and by surviving, I did save her life. She is alive, and those hopes and dreams she had before she felt pain and loss still exist in me. And every time someone treats me badly and I stand up for myself, I am standing up for her. Every time I try to get better, I am nursing her back to health. Every time I take care of myself, I am taking care of her. I am the adult she needed.
She was saved, because she is me, and I saved myself. I saved her. I saved us both.
I’m only sharing such personal feelings this plainly, because I hope it will resonate with some of you who feel that there’s a part of you, a child crying, who got left behind. If you’re still alive, you’re holding that child in your arms right now. They are vulnerable, they are wounded, but they are alive. Take care of yourself, and you’ll take care of them. I love you.

ARGENTINA JUST MADE HISTORY.
The first protest for legal abortion in democracy in Argentina was on March 7, 1984. 36 years later, December 30, 2020 at 04:13 am, abortion is now officially legal, safe and free for all women. Women have fought for so long to obtain rights of this kind. This is a HUGE step for us, what an amazing day. EL ABORTO ES LEGAL 💚

the trauma moods
i wonder why my life is in shambles that's weird
i'm going to redesign my room and paint a portrait and binge watch six shows and dye my hair and start a makeup brand and write a novel and read poetry and clean my whole house and
i Can't Get Out Of Bed
uh oh sisters! *showers with the lights off*
cries in the car and almost crashes accidentally
tv static noises
*wakes up* [redacted] *goes to sleep*
i haven't slept in 72 hours and i'm talking a lot about ophelia and reciting hamlet's soliloquies and everyone around me is worried
trying to sleep but there's Something In My Room
*texts abuser(s)* oh this is a fantastic idea
i'm horny and angry about it
i'm horny and sad about it
masturbates and then cries
If You Touch Me I Will Kill You
*thinks about trauma* oh that sucks for whoever that was
oh, wait, that actually happened?????
Shame
i'm going to starve myself until i'm so small no one will want me
i'm going to overeat until i'm so big no one will want me
*throws up for unknown reason*
talk about trauma, but make it funny
I CAN'T DO SOMETHING REALLY SIMPLE AND INSTEAD OF WORKING THROUGH IT I'M GONNA YELL AND HURT MYSELF UNTIL I GET TIRED
i have forgotten every single coping skill i've ever learned
hnnnnnnng
*listens to music from That Time and gets weirdly nostalgic*
i Want To Be Abused
i will never love again! ever!
confuses platonic and romantic emotions because anything that feels Good is confusing
i've had a good number of people reblog this post who were relieved to hear they weren't the only ones who had feelings of wanting to be abused again. i just want to tell you it's a common reaction to abuse; your brain seeks out what's familiar and what it understands. the abuse makes sense to your brain because there's a clear path laid out and you know how it's supposed to go, while a healthy relationship might be intimidating because you aren't used to being treated with kindness or respect. the brain also tends to seek out relationships where it feels like it can replay the situation in hopes of a better outcome the next time around. it sucks, and it's a horrible feeling, and it can feel so so invalidating, but i want you to know that you aren't alone in that. it's a horribly common response to trauma, and i'm telling you the same things my therapist told me: seeking out what's familiar and following instinct does not make your trauma any less real or valid. you can still be deeply hurt by what happened while actively looking for situations that remind you of it.

His name was George Nkencho. This should not have happened. Don't let this go. Say his name.

You may not read about this anywhere so I decided to tell you...
PLEASE REBLOG TO MAKE EVERYONE KNOW WHY TODAY'S IS A VERY IMPORTANT DAY IN ARGENTINA'S HISTORY.
Two years have passed since the last time the abortion legalization law was discussed in the Senate and was rejected, and a total of thirteen years have passed since it was first introduced as a law projecteaning this would be the seventh time it has been introduced since then).
For thirteen years, women and gestating bodies from all over the country have come together to march in the streets several times a year to ask once again that abortion is legal, safe and free.
Furthermore, this struggle that continues to unite us throughout the years has gained strength in the last 3 years along with the strength of the feminist waves, making us even more confident and strong than ever to say that today has to happen.
This day sums up years and years of struggle, but what happens today depends on the life of thousands of women and gestating bodies.
That this law is approved today is essential so that thousands of poor women (and gestating bodies) who cannot have a safe abortion stop dying in hiding.
That today it is approved in a country as impoverished as Argentina is essential to ensure that the state assists those who do not have the resources to pay for it and prevent them from dying in hiding.
That after all these years of struggle this law is approved would guarantee that schools have proper and obligatory sexual education for everyone, that hospitals and clinics guarantee information about (and) birth control methods for free and that no entity can refuse performing an abortion despite whatever reason they're against it. Because after all, this is not am ideological issue, it is about public health.
That this finally gets approval would mean that not only grown women but also little girls (and) victims of abuse from all around the country will finally get the chance to decide over their own bodies and lifes, that they will have a future guaranteed instead of dying alone in a clandestine clinic on the slums. That they're not alone anymore.
Until now, scraping with metal hangers, parsley branches and other sharp elements that lead to internal wounds that cause mostal bleeding has been the only option for those who can't (or don't want) to have a baby but don't have the money to pay for a safe (but still illegal) abortion either.
We want this to end now.
It is not about having or not an abortion done, it is about it being it legal, safe and free to end the death of thousands of women and pregnant bodies in hiding.
