Not Tumblr giving me a notif on 01/17 that it's my blog's 10 year anniversary...crazy stuff live moves fast doesn't it. "Theworld-ischanging" was the name I gave my blog because I felt like there was always so much stuff flashing before my eyes online and in the media. Everyday there are new posts, new events happening, new topics people are talking about. And my teenage life at the time also felt like it was changing fast, with every year entering a new grade at school, changing classes, and trying new things. The world certainly has changed and will continue to change. Change is something I struggle with, a lot. I'm a very nostalgic person, and whilst I love trying new things, I hate change and love to return to the familiar. In the past year or so I have returned to many old interests I had 10 years ago when I started this blog, in part thanks to Tumblr itself. TV shows, YouTubers, that tumblr/hot topic aesthetic - all coming back into my life again. And it makes me happy. To be honest I don't feel so incredibly different from the person I was 10 years ago. Big parts of me have changed for sure, as I've lived a lot of life since then. But being 23 and in my early 20s doesn't feel all that different than being a teenager (omg I started this blog when I was 13, help who gave me unbridled internet access like that - I don't even think my parents know what Tumblr is). Although when I think to another 10 years from now, I'd be 33 years old, and that scares me. I feel I'll be a lot more different then, but who knows. I've spent so much of my time and life worrying about growing up and life moving on and going too fast. It's been a long journey, but I'm trying more and more to enjoy life in the here and now. Stay with the present moment. I've had a lot of moments throughout my life where I am enjoying the moment but I think to myself "wow this is such a wonderful moment, I'm going to miss it when it's over". So I try to cherish those moments, and not get stressed out by the idea of it ending. Anyways I don't anticipate anyone actually reading this rant, it was more a personal blogging/journaling moment for myself. I never really intended for my posts to be that widespread or perceived by others. I am most definitely a lurker - I peruse and consume content, but rarely do I output my own content. Occasional likes and very rare comments on other people's posts are about as far as I'll go. But to the people who I have actually met online, internet friends who I've mostly long since lost touch with, thank you for being a part of my life and a part of this journey. Here's to the next 10 years I suppose, and to where life will lead me. Like my bio says, "I'm in it for the long game" (thanks to Sabrina Carpenter who's character Mia on Girl Meets World said that).
