Potion of Yore Potion, uncommon

This potion is coveted by scholars and sought by those obsessed with the past. Created by powerful seers and sold at hefty prices…prices that aren’t always in gold.

When consumed you can name a time and place, or a person, place, and time. The time must be in the past and no longer than 10 years ago. When you do so, you make a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, the potion is destroyed and you take 2d12 psychic damage.

Past Sight: On a success, your eyes cloud over and in your mind, you see the place or person you named. The scene will follow the person you named or stayed anchored to the place named. While observing the scene your vision narrows to a 10ft radius circle. The vision lasts for 10 minutes.

Once you view a specific time you can never do so again. If you try, you must make a DC 20 Wisdom saving throw or suffer a permanent -1 to your Wisdom. This can only be undone with greater restoration or with wish.

The potion is thick and leaves a milky residue on the glass. It smells strongly of incense and drinking it causes your head to throb painfully.

Clockwork Dragon’s Guide to Arcane Familiars

Familiars have always been an exciting prospect for me, but 5e’s handling of them is… well, lackluster at best. To that end, I took it upon myself to retool the familiar system and provide a suitable myriad of options for people seeking to keep and train a tiny magical companion.This supplement is still in progress, and likely needs quite a bit of play testing. The final release will have a total of 100 familiars, but quite honestly, I am burnt out on familiars, and want to work on another project for while, so for now please enjoy 13 new Feats, and the first 50 familiars in this extended preview.

 As a major notice on this bit of brew: the guide to familiars is still a work in progress, and I’m still in the process not only of adding new familiars, but also sourcing all of the artwork. I don’t do any of my own art, and I always try to credit that artwork back to the original creator. The final published release of this document will contain citations and sourcing for all artwork, but as ths is only meant to be a WIP preview so you all know what I have been working on, much of that is still missing, and will be updated as I work through it.

I emerge once again, wearing nothing but a improperly buttoned shirt, a wizard hat, and socks, waving my magic spell in the air. “I fixed it this time, I promise!” My mouth is frothing. I have not slept in weeks. Butter is slathered across my face and I have garlic salt in my other hand. I have turned my idiot sandwich into a meatball sub with garlic bread.

For real though. I keep forgetting that “cubic feet” isn’t a term you can use to describe a cube with uniform dimensions. A “4 ft. cube” just doesn’t roll off the tongue the same way or work into a sentence as easily. The logistics of a 4 ft. cube, and why I consider it necessary, is dropping distance and appearance space. Like Tensers Floating Disc, you have to have space for the crate to appear. If the crate is a 4 ft. cube, that means you can summon it in any unoccupied square/cube on the standard battle map. A crate the size of 4 cubic feet would be easier to summon, and is less funny when you get only 1 grain of sand.

“Natural 20′s on Initiative are a waste of a Crit″- A Nat20 on initiative gives the player one Hasted Action (to be used to Attack once, Dash, Disengage, Dodge or Use An Item) for the first Round of combat. Nat1′s on Initiative mean the player can use their Action or Bonus Action but not both, and loose their Reaction for the first Round of combat. 

“This Healing Potion cost me all my gold and it’s healed me for nothing.” - You can use a Healing Potion as an Action or a Bonus Action. If used as an Action you stop and concentrate on drinking it, and heal the max amount of HP. If used as a Bonus Action, you take a swig and hope it was enough, so you roll for the healing received as per usual rules.

“The Cleric has run out of Spell Slots and there is no healing Cantrip, we’re screwed and they feel useless” - Since Clerics are literal channels between their god and the world, I’ve given my Clerics an ability we called Divine Conduit - As an Action, you may cast Cure Wounds without a Spell Slot by sacrificing your own HP equivalent to 10xthe Spell Level you cast it at (10 HP for Lvl 1, 20 for Lvl 2 etc) as you literally burn yourself up by releasing more divine power than your body can take. 

“Why don’t cats have Darkvision?” - No clue. Cats have Darkvision now.

The d4 is all pastel grey, decorated with pastel rainbow Konpeito candy, with excited soot sprites decorating all the die faces, celebrating their sweet treat.]
