Can I just say that I really really love this set of promo pictures? There are so many wonderful things to note about these moments here and how these shots are composed. First and foremost there is Mary of course and she is wrapped in dark red while Dan is wearing his dark blue jacket. This very colour combination was very much connected to Amara (and Dean) last season and even if I am reading way too much into this I like how this would subtly highlight once more, who gave the Winchesters their mother back: the Darkness/Amara.

But that’s not everything. I also just adore how we see Mary positioning herself protectively in front of Dean while he is chained up, exactly like any mother would do that wans to keep her children safe. And the way we see Mary hold a gun here… Well, let’s just say I didn’t know there was a way to have feelings about how someone holds a gun, but apparently I have these feelings, because the way Mary handles the gun, is so very similar to the way Dean holds the gun. And these promo pics captures that perfectly, the whole “like mother, like son”-thing and I just love that.

And last but not least there’s the top right picture. Truly, call me crazy, but that is one of the most gorgeous shots hands down imo, because the way Sam, Dean and Mary are framed here is just beautiful. It is literally a visualization of “having or watching the other one’s back”. Sam in the front, right behind him his older brother, looking over his shoulder and also backing him up. And while before no one would have stood right there behind Dean to have his back and watch out for him and back him up (aside from Cas when he was with the brothers at the time), now there is Mary, his mother, looking over his shoulder, having his back, looking out for him.

and THEN researchers basically ceased to do any type of research on side effects like depression and decreased libido for 50 years, despite the fact that women were still complaining about them, and because there was no “hard evidence” of these side effects, a lot of doctors basically just assumed women were exaggerating or making it up. and that continued until the first major study of depression in women who take hormonal contraceptives was released just. this. year.
