sometimes i get a glimpse of what other people consider "dire" circumstances or "struggling" and it's like. oh other people's worst periods are what the good times were like for us. i didn't know normal people live so much better. i didn't know this wasn't normal.

we've got good job prospects now that we're in a new city, but our apartment came rat-infested and unclean. we both got the flu and racked up medical bills from several hospital visits (they kept insisting i didn't need antibiotics until my ear infection got so bad i couldn't hear out of one ear and barely out of the other).

our landlords from the old place we left are reporting things that were there at move-in as damage we caused and we don't have the documentation to fight it. we didn't have a fridge or rat-safe containers for a week during the moving process so we had to restock all our food. it's all so miserable.

we still need help. rent is right around the corner again, half the bills from last month remain unpaid, we need to do a lot of the repairs on this apartment ourselves.

please, if there's any help anyone can do to help...

not to be captain obvious here but they literally just knowingly lied about this for a decade & ruined our lives. there was never any evidence to support trans women having an advantage over cis women it was always just made up to further transmisogyny & sexism.

Objective

To compare body composition and physical fitness between transgender and cisgender individuals.

Design

Systematic review with meta-analysis.

Data sources

PubMed, Web of Science, Embase and SportDiscus.

Eligibility criteria

Inclusion criteria comprised studies of transgender individuals comparing body composition or physical fitness pre-to-post gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT) or versus cisgender controls.

Results

52 studies (n=6485) were included. Transgender women had similar relative fat mass (standardised mean difference (SMD) −0.33, 95% CI −0.72 to 0.05, Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE): very low), relative lean mass (SMD 0.19, 95% CI −0.14 to 0.53, GRADE: low), upper-body strength (SMD 0.54, 95% CI −0.95 to 2.02, GRADE: very low), lower-body strength (SMD 0.05, 95% CI −1.31 to 1.40, GRADE: very low) and maximal oxygen consumption (SMD −0.28, 95% CI −0.81 to 0.25, GRADE: very low) in comparison to cisgender women. Transgender men exhibited higher relative fat mass (SMD 0.96, 95% CI 0.28 to 1.64, GRADE: moderate), lower relative lean mass (SMD −6.42, 95% CI −12.26 to −0.58, GRADE: moderate) and lower upper-body strength (SMD −1.46, 95% CI −2.52 to −0.40, GRADE: moderate) than cisgender men. In transgender women, GAHT was associated with increased fat mass and reduced lean mass and upper-body strength over 1–3 years. Transgender men demonstrated reduced fat mass and increased lean mass and strength following GAHT.

There's weren't enough donations to cover the cost of the water tanks, so ThomaSerena had to once again place himself in debt to help.

Later, the kitchen was running dangerously low on supplies and donations were still stagnant. ThomaSerena made another emergency transfer to make sure the community wouldn't starve.

The waterline is still not fixed and Ramadan is coming up.

ThomaSerena is one person who is juggling the emotional and financial weight of supporting displaced communities in Sudan. He is a refugee himself, who is still healing from his own trauma and trying to keep his own family afloat in Egypt.

He has given everything he has to help those in need. We need to pitch in too.

While we didn't meet January's goals, we have the chance to turn things around this month. The goals for February are 16k on Chuffed (for the community kitchen) and 54k on gfm (which is supporting 4 individual families).
