Hello! you are one of my favorite selfship creators, I was wondering if u could write a little about a villian f/o whos bitter towards most, and only really cares about themselves, maybe learning to warm up to/tolerate s/i? ITS OK IF NOT!
hello hello and thank youu!! <3 I'm always worried about making the f/o too mean in my imagines because I don't want people to feel hurt :/ but some f/o's are just like that!! but trust they'll learn to soften around you <3
THIS GOT SO LONG and ended up kind of more like a narrative. i hope that's ok :3
bitter/selfish villain f/o who's learning to tolerate you...
❤︎ they can be mean. whether it's their fault or not that they're a villain, they're bitter and sharp to anyone around them. they've learnt not to trust anyone but themselves, and they lash out when anyone dares try to get close. don't expect anything more than a glare and a muttered insult when you're around them at first.
❤︎ but although they seem set in their ways, there are little things that they grow to allow. they're fiercely protective of their lab/office/personal space, but after enough pestering or awkwardly asking for favours they might begin to accept your company. maybe they allow you to watch them work, rambling about how you're learning from the best, glancing over to make sure you're paying attention.
❤︎ I need to emphasise that progress is sloooow. don't expect things to change overnight. it's the little things; the way their eyes linger on you when you're in their space, the way they suck their teeth and scoff when you hold the door for them, the way they might gruffly neaten your collar or sleeves if you're looking unkempt. congratulations!! you've graduated from aggravating to mildly annoying.
❤︎ they don't realise they're softening until it's too late. maybe you're hurt, maybe you're crying - or maybe you're completely fine, just sitting quietly in their company. but when they look over at you, brow furrowed and jaw tightening, they realise what's happened. you're important. it makes them sick at first, an awful weight settling in their stomach. this wasn't supposed to happen.
❤︎ so they pull away. it's always been their instinct to run, and they completely ignore you. if they're the angry type maybe they freak out, trying to get you to leave. scaring you away is best - then you'll be afraid of them and stay away of your own accord.
❤︎ they don't know what to do when you refuse to leave. you'll have to be gentle, coaxing them out like a little animal, their expression incredulous as you refuse to listen. but if you're quiet and calm enough, they just might let you back in.
