They broke all my hope
I hate what they did to Crowley. I hate that they turned him into a helpless, emotionally dependent creature who would just lie down and die in a filthy alleyway if abandoned.
Part of me wouldn’t even mind him being broken or even dependent if it actually led somewhere, but definitely not for it to be used just to manifest some nihilistic idea.
I hate that this made Aziraphale completely soul-less and highlighted the inequality in their relationship even more. The inequality in the level of emotional involvement in each other's problems. Crowley literally burned his feet just so Aziraphale wouldn't be uncomfortable, while Aziraphale just left Crowley at his lowest point and treated him like garbage.
I hate it. I truly see that this finale was unredeemable from the very beginning because of that scene, because of the vastly different positions they were put in. It feels like absolute mockery. It blows my mind how anyone can still claim this shows CROWLEY as the favorite. How? How does being so neglected, being made to feel like nobody needs him, like he is nothing, and that the grandest being won't even lift a finger to help him—how does that make him the 'favorite'? Crowley has to sacrifice again. Crowley has to step over his own pride again and does so, without receiving any comfort or validation. What's more, Aziraphale continues to mock him, saying he only saved the Bentley because Crowley might be useful then. It’s just disgusting.
And some fans of this pairing expect that after everything, Crowley should just take more spit to the face and offer Aziraphale a 'us' and an escape, or come up with something. Of course Crowley has to. Aziraphale doesn't have to do anything. He can 'choose' Crowley when nobody even needs it anymore because the universe has ceased to exist. And he can present it in the worst possible way—once again implying that CROWLEY ONLY MATTERS TO HIM as the angel he used to be. Not the here and now. He didn't choose him. He just decided that the time for 'us' had come because nothing else is left. Therefore, Crowley can be forced to forgive him without a real apology ever being made. Therefore, all the responsibility can be dumped on Crowley alone once again, so Aziraphale can accept or reject it from a high-and-mighty, comfortable position. I really see some kind of justification for Crowley after all the treatment the angel gave him. But as for Aziraphale, I don't have a single excuse. He couldn't care less about what happened to Crowley, even though in Season 2 he agreed to go to Heaven specifically on the condition of a better chance for Crowley and the possibility of being together. Now, it's presented as if that never happened, as if Aziraphale's character growth was fabricated, as if he never even thought about Crowley.
I really, really, really hate it. I hate that they made Crowley even more broken and gave him no way out, while making Aziraphale unjustifiably cruel and selfish just to justify this nihilistic finale.
