driving my chevy to the levee today
what the fuck
being a feminist who also hyperfixates on unsolved crime is weird. Like i’m trying to enjoy Severance but instead I’m just making myself feel sick thinking about Natalie Wood whenever Christopher Walken is on screen
I’m watching Merlin and every time I see a long shot I take a picture because it’s so gorgeous <3 the beauty of Merlin long shots ⛰️🌿✨

the great conversion is so silly to me because like what if humans had the ability to make animals human. and so we started with our beloved pets but still had an enormous food source. but then one day some guy is like “what if we made all animals human” and so we turn all the animals human and now we have to become herbivores because the only other option is cannibalism

need a UK citizen to marry me because have yall seen how insanely expensive international student fees are? nearly double what UK citizens have to pay. any volunteers
Not being nice
I'm cool with ppl defending GO3 by talking about what they liked or disagreeing with criticisms. I even agree with some points, and if I don't, no biggie. Different opinions won't kill me.
What I can't stick is the it's a bad idea to say that, or they're married what more do you want, or even you're damaging the fandom stuff, and not just because I don't like being told to shut up. These arguments come from the same place as what I hated about the end of GO3.
When Crowley said just be an us it's not just be a couple it also means be ourselves. They weren't together because they weren't free. For Aziraphale and Crowley, just like irl queer people, the freedom to be with the person they love is intrinsically linked to the freedom to be their authentic selves. Who we love is part of who we are.
The Finale gave us a remix of Crowley and Aziraphale who got to be together only when they gave up being themselves. Asa and Anthony are literally pale imitations. Turning a supernatural entity into a human can be a celebration of ordinariness, of humanity (Michael getting a human life the Good Place was a TREAT) but GO3 goes out of its way to make AU Crowley and Aziraphale lesser. Alt!Crowley could've been an artist, or an engineer, or a gardener but that wouldn't have demoted him from starmaker to stargazer. Why demote Aziraphale from bookshop owner to shop assistant other that to take him down a peg or two?
It feels pointed, a put down. No happiness while you're loud, and vibrant, powerful, and defiant. Be smaller, be quieter, be lesser, know your place and you might be allowed a happy ending. Behave.
And whatever the politics of the people saying it, the voices telling us to be grateful so see a married queer couple, to not complain, being annoyed at us for wanting more are giving me the same vibe. It's respectability politics, no kink at pride, assimilate, don't be angry or shrill or weird and don't be ungrateful.
Fuck that. I do think my favourite characters deserved me. I think we deserve more. I'm not grateful and I don't see why I should pretend I am to be nice.
a lot of my rage initially was because i kept thinking about young queer teenagers watching this ending and going online to be told to just be happy with shitty representation. but i’m a little older and i’ve been force fed a diet of queerbait and bury your gays since the 2000s so i refuse to partake in that bullshit anymore. i DON’T think the ending is well written, but more importantly I think it’s bad queer representation, so no, I will not sit by and just Accept that this is how it ends.
I did not spend years of my life at university studying rome in classes that were over 50% women to let someone say "rome may be for the guys" on my post!!!
men aren't obsessed with Rome they're obsessed with being patriarchs who get to subjugate everyone around them. He doesn't care about Pliny the Elder, he's having wet dreams where he gets to be Caesar. It's unironically the new vegas thing, we're living in an age beyond on-the-nose satire. This was also mussolini's deal
one of my biggest criticisms of Nolan’s Odyssey was that he fell into the trap every man who’s ever adapted the Odyssey falls into- sacrificing the intimacy and femininity in favour of Big Horse and Cool Fight Scene. And I left the theatre thinking, I just think I need to see a female adaptation because these men always miss the point.

Mad as hell Assad isn't in more stuff. Where else can I watch my man on the computer? Just Hotel Portofino? Anyone know if any play he's in was filmed?
you can watch him in a production of ibsen's 'a doll's house' alongside anjana vasan here
in a short film called the saint of southhall here
in east is east by signing up for a subscription of ntathome here (there are links to watch it without paying but i can't provide that rn)
watch him as florizel in an rsc (royal shakespeare company) production of the winter's tale here (downloadable) he also played a few small roles in an rsc production of coriolanus that you can rent from digital theatre here or with a subscription to marquee tv here
he was in about 5 seconds of the show 'cucumber' which you can watch on channel 4's online player here. this may require a vpn if you're outside the UK. he's in episode 6 (content warning: this episode shows assad's character dying from AIDS and ends with a Black character being violently murdered by a white man in a homophobic hate crime)
he was in one of the 'small axe' films directed by steve mcqueen for the bbc, 'red white and blue' starring john boyega which you can watch here (requires a vpn outside the UK and a content warning for racism) he was in s4e3 of 'our girl' which you can watch here
he was in a couple episodes of a bbc show called 'apple tree yard' that isn't currently available on bbc iplayer but you can watch some clips of him here this youtube channel also has some supercuts of his appearances in other shows (such as 'vera' here) and stage productions, as well as behind the scenes videos, and his lines from a poem here (full video has since been taken down but he looks very beautiful in the clip so watch it anyway) and this classic
he was in a movie called 'we work for the dead' also known as 'this is the night mail' which looks like it's available to rent or buy from amazon in the US here it also appears to be free with ads on youtube (for countries that aren't mine lmao)
if you're going to be in england any time soon you can watch him in a recording of zadie smith's 'white teeth' held in the v&a's video archive. this requires contacting the v&a beforehand to make a request and book an appointment here. you can watch the trailer for that production here
salome is held in the rsc archive by the shakespeare birthplace trust and you will likewise need to contact them to book a video viewing space in their reading room beforehand here. trailer here
I would additionally like to add that he voiced Inesh for the BBC radio drama War of Words: Indira's Story in 2022. Fair warning, you need to be in the UK with a registered BBC account to access this. I used a VPN.
Link here
Additionally, if you're into audiobooks, or just want to listen to his beautiful voice for a big chunk of time (we've all been there 🙈), he has narrated two novels (that I know of):
The Boy with the Topknot by Sathnam Sanghera
Time Travelling with a Hamster by Ross Welford
They are both available on Audible and Storytel.
