It's rushed. It feels like entire scenes are missing. You could have probably made a serviceable 90 minutes out of "the Second Coming is missing". They did not have time for any of the set up for the Book of Life payoff.

I truly do wonder what would've happened if we'd gotten the original 6 full episodes 🤔

On the trauma part: there are ways they could've made those two have back stories that echoed Azi and Crowley's but based in human experiences, it's been done before- it's been done very well in fact- in human AU fanfic (which I never liked but I know they've done good backstories) but instead they give us the most vanilla wet cardboard like characters, and think we should be happy with it??

On the Crowley vs Angel!Crowley part: it just honestly feels so friggin disrespectful to Crowley tbh, like for the sake of an argument running with the "they've been reincarnated in the new universe 🥺" thing they really haven't, Aziraphale 'has', but that is not in any way shape or form Crowley, you can't even really say he's based on Crowley, instead he's based on some Angel we never really met. And I would honestly be SEETHING if I was Crowley and saw THAT was what they made 'human 'me'' like. Also the whole 'season' just feels really off with talking about Crowley and when he was an angel, like it kinda idolises it I feel and to me I heard that it was like, better when he was an angel and that hurt ME, I can't imagine how Crowley would feel. (Also it's not your Angel!Crowley so I don't want it.)

I hate that human Crowley is so painfully normal and Okay

The fun part about Crowley to me has always been that he’s been through STUFF which has left him apathetic (and traumatized in his own way) beyond the few things he finds fun, and despite having had the means of offing himself with the holy water thermos, something which Aziraphale even CONSIDERED as a possibility which says so fucking much about Crowley as a person, he never did.

He engaged in terrible coping mechanisms, sleeping through the ages in order not to experience things, getting himself so drunk he can barely think, sure, but he kept going, only for the ending to make him choose destruction the moment he was faced with the one who doomed him to this pain

It fucks me up that people willingly romanticize that

Even in the more teehee fucking whimsy interpretations of the ending that consider this a sacrifice and an epic win

I don't necessarily agree that they might be completely cis as humans because I don't correlate gender presentation to gender queerness, BUT

That former point is very important and I feel like people forget about it when discussing the transness of them as characters

Many enbies me included liked their angel and demon selves because they were so fucking non-binary and trans and queer without even realizing it due to the fact that they were not human to begin with

Turning them into humans erased that perceived inherent gender queerness for us and it's such a difficult thing to explain but it's just fngnskfn like it fucks me up

(I use the term 'restored' with a grain of salt as everyone from the original universe is dead, presumably including God)

As someone who's been thru a fair share of bad things and is intimately familiar with the consequences of that, it genuinely feels like when you tell a survivor of something that they should've died and that would've been kinder, lovelier ending to their story , because maybe in a different life, that didn't happen 🥺
