Day Thirty: All of Their Kisses.

Well, whenever anyone tells me I can’t do something, I prove them wrong.

While rereading parts of Romancing Mr. Bridgerton for the 5798th time (send help!) I just love how they're an optimal blend of "wow, yes, I so GET you because I'm the same way!" similarities and "thank God each has what the other lacks so they can balance each other out" differences!

Penelope and Colin are both intelligent, observant and insightful; they both love to read and write; they're both dreamers and searchers who tend to overanalyze; they're both imaginative idealists who take it hard when reality inevitably falls short; they both crave deeper, more meaningful conversations and connections than the ton usually offers; both conceal aspects of their identities as a self-protective measure, both are sensitive in that they take things harder than most but are also empathetic and compassionate when it comes to the feelings of others...and more!

They also have salient differences: Colin is more extroverted and socially at ease while Pen is more introverted and self-conscious (have I mentioned that I'm Pen); Colin is more adventurous and open while Penelope is more cautious and private; Colin is more spontaneous and sometimes ugh-no-Colin-don't impulsive while Penelope generally thinks and plans before acting.

For all of our fanbase's criticisms about how parts of the show handled their love story and the ways in which it departed from the book, I have to say that I do think the show still retained the core of who they are and why they're soulmates.
