I haven’t shared any of the new stories, head canons, art or lore I’ve come up with for Casey in ages, to the point it’s actually criminal.
So I’m dropping some deep shit rn.
Also, I’m not high, I just have a lot of chaotic energy. Which means it’s every one else’s problem haha.
Anyway- I’m getting sidetracked.
Okay- Casey this is actually about my design choices when I was deciding what look I was going for on her.
Okay, This also involves how I envision and write her parents in her backstory, because she takes after both in certain ways.
Anyway, her mom has the same blood red, hair color. But her father has the piercing, orange eyes. And I have reasons.
Background if I haven’t shared it rq. Casey’s father was a ruthless crime lord, that thrives on the suffering of others and isolated her from everyone but himself when she was growing up in hopes of turning her to be like him, and in turn his heir to the crime.
Casey’s mom, loved her more than anything but lacked the ability to protect her properly. She was pregnant as a teen and therefore shut out by her entire family. So her mom, was all on her own with no resources. But she knew there was something wrong with her husband, and spent years running away and looking over her shoulder to keep Casey out of his hands. And later when she was alone and desperate, she fell prey to drug dealers.
So Casey, she has her father’s eyes. And she also has his ruthlessness and drive. His determination and fire, his strategic adaptability. Her orange eyes, symbolize the ability to act, and do things that may be necessary even when others can’t stomach the decision.
Her hair, being the same color as her mother’s, that symbolizes that deep down in her roots, she is her mother’s daughter, and that she is a good person even if she doesn’t believe it all the time. Casey has her mother’s stubborn edge. The fight that never leaves her even when it’s hopeless, Casey learned that from watching her mother for years. And the ability to protect someone from danger at the cost of her own luxury.
