Lams rant:

I don't even know how to start this crap off. Just what in the absolute FUCK is wrong with this fandom? What the fuck is wrong with people in general?

So earlier a friend told me that their Stevnel server was raided. Curious, I asked another friend who's in the server to send screenshots of what happened. (sense I am not there)

This is the shit I got.

The people in red are the anti fuckers and the yellow are the members. I don't even know why I bothered covering up their names, not like they'd do it for us.

Anyway.

My friend told me that the whole time these mother fuckers were there, they were being extremely passive aggressive, saying shit like "anyway ship Connverse because it's not a pedophile ship" and of course, calling them pedophiles.

Even though most of the fucking people on that server (that I know of) are like 13 to fucking 17 years old. But no they're pedos right?

And to me the worse part was that there are people in that server who are victims of pedophilia themselves. Imagine being called a pedophile when that has happened to you? What the fuck goes through these fucking idiots heads when they say shit like this?

"oh we're trying to protect the kids from grooming!" Most of the people that ship gem x steven ships are children.

"oh then they're just dummies that don't know what they're doing is wrong" uh bitch I'm sure at age fucking 12 you know the difference between a ship of two cartoon characters that look cute together and fucking PEDOPHILIA.

But no these fucking assholes have watered down that word so damn much that people such as myself sometimes forget what the word fucking means sometimes. These antis are calling people pedophiles as if they're calling their sibling stupid. Do they not realize how serious calling someone a pedophile is? People's lives can be RUINED but that.

Isn't Steven Universe about acceptance and fucking loving one another for who they are? How can most of the fandom be the absolute opposite of that?

What do these people think they're achieving by making people upset, depressed and damn right AFRAID to share their interests with others in fear of being called a fucking pedophile? Or being told to kill themselves? Like please PLEASE tell me what is WRONG with you I-

Pedophilia or not. People should not be harassed over fictional characters. Especially if they're not even doing anything wrong. The majority of Stevnel shippers are nice fucking people who get labeled as awful people just because they SHIP SOMETHING LIKE WHAT THE FUCK.

They need to fucking realize that cyber bullying can lead to people taking their own lives. But knowing these people. They probably wouldn't even fucking care

Me and everyone else:

Unpopular opinion: I was never a fan of Steven and Connie as a couple. 

Steven and Connie never had an interesting chemistry for me in the show ever since they introduced Connie as a character. I never knew why because it seemed fine enough if Rebecca was going to make them canon by the time the show ended for good. The last two episodes we had ‘In Dreams’ and ‘Bismuth Casual’ made me realize why, and I’m kind of salty about it. 

In the episode ‘Bismuth Casual’, we see Steven having a hard time interacting with Connie’s friends and not being able to connect with Connie because he feels like they are drifting apart. It is obvious that Steven is struggling with the situation, and only Bismuth tries to pull him out of his awkwardness so that he can actually hang out with his friend. Connie could have solved the issue right away, if she only took the time to understand how Steven was feeling. She had the most interaction with him during the episode, and yet seems completely unaware that her best friend feels like they are not as close as they were. She should know when Steven is acting out of place and not like himself considering how long she’s known him. She barely shows any emotion, and tells him that she doesn’t mind staying behind with him when he says, “I don’t want to hold you back.” Which could make anyone feel like a burden and that they would be better off without the other person while going through depression. 

And then we have the episode ‘In Dreams’ were Peridot shows genuine concern for Steven when she sees how depressed about her possibly leaving him behind. It’s true that Peridot actually saw exactly what Steven was feeling through his dreams and Connie still has no idea what he’s going through. However even when he told her that he feels like she’s drifting away, Connie’s only solution to this was to have them fuse. Which seems to be the answer to all of their problems when they are struggling with something. When Peridot hears what he has to say, she immediately tries to comfort her friend and reassure him that she doesn’t need an excuse hang out with him. She wants to be around Steven because she wants to, not because she doesn’t mind. They don’t have to fuse to show how important they are to each other, they both care deeply about each other because they’ve been through so much. 

Peridot desperately clings to Steven and says “I’m such a clod.” after she sees how much Steven doesn’t want her to leave. To me, this means she’s saying ‘I made you feel this way and I’m sorry’. She feels responsible for making Steven feel like she didn’t want to be around him without having something to keep them in the same place together. Peridot respects and cares about Steven’s emotions to the point where she tries so hard to tell him that he means more to her then any television show. This is much more effective then Connie simply saying, “Skating? Is what you’re worried about?”
