Over the years, i’ve had the odd thing about me that although there were stupid people, they could learn to have common sense. Some time later, I found that not all of them would actually be willing unless their worldview was proven false, and the wool burned from their eyes. I wanted to be a voice to teach the ignorant, to show them that what they were taught isn’t necessarily true. Now, I wear sunglasses because the blurred, darkened view of what I see is easier on my eyes instead of the focused, clear view of the stupidity I see in this world. I seek hope in the victories in the name of intelligence and common sense, and get despair in the immensely painful failures I see in the victories in the name of ignorance and stupidity. Sometimes I wonder if in old age if I will be nearly as stubborn towards the next generation.

As many of you folks may know, I'm pro choice. Why am I pro-choice? Simple. What would you say if you had something within you, that you had to carry for nine months that you weren't entirely prepared for? That the doctors tell you that you likely won't survive if you carry it? That it would be best to have it extracted from your body before it develops nerve endings and thus feel pain? You'd get rid of it, wouldn't you? No one is saying babies or pregnancy is some sort of disease. Sure, if a woman doesn't want a baby, she could put it up for adoption, if she wanted to carry it to term. But the thing is, there are a large amount of children that have been put up for adoption that have yet to be adopted. Now I bet you pro-lifers are thinking along the lines of "What the fuck? It's a LIVING BEING!" No, technically, up until it has working nerve endings, and a working brain, its essentially an additional part of a human body. A part of a someone. And that someone can and should always be able to choose whether they want that part of them taken out or not.
