I genuinely hate when people talk about Daniel dying or doing body switch so Eric can leave the show because people think he’s too old to stay for one or two more seasons.
Imagine being Armand and spending whole five centuries of your life feeling unloved or conditionally loved l, where he needs to make himself smaller and mold himself into whatever he thinks the other person wants and then, and THEN, so late in his life, he meets someone that challenges him and resists him. And not only that, he falls in love with this person who loves him for who he is, monster and all. He gets to see this person grow old, free from the burden of youth but not from the burden of beauty. So they reconnect and Armand falls back in love yet again, even if this time around is harder and there is so much more meddling, and the complications! And he turns him, out of love. Something he never thought he would ever do because he couldn’t possibly curse someone like that, but Daniel was probably dying and this time he has to interfere. He couldn’t let his boy die.
Then he runs away because despite loving Daniel, being a maker is something he couldn’t do? But the world is in danger and Daniel is in danger and he needs to get back to him. Only for Daniel to end up dead or, worse yet, becoming someone else physically? Leaving behind the body that endured so much and was a witness to their story? Fuck off, no. That can’t happen. Why would they torture Armand like that, that would genuinely be devastating for me.
