One of Sirius’ favorite parts of his day was studying history. A few weeks ago, if you told him that, he’d’ve laughed in your face. After all, he was nearly failing.

However, sometime last week, Sirius came across a small creator making super geeky history videos.

Normally, that would not be up his alley. The quality was awful, for fucks sake. However, the hot, nerdy guy creating the videos had a voice like butter. He never showed his face, only his hands and forearms. And honestly, that was enough. His voice was deep, calm, and comforting. The veins and muscles in his arms would contract and relax as he wrote out dates and facts.

He had big, loopy handwriting. It was legible but not too fancy. He used very generic, everyday school supplies- nothing frilly. He wasn't a show-off. Sirius respected that.

Maybe… Sirius had a dumb crush on the nerdy, history Mystery Man.

As the weeks went on, Sirius would haul himself in his room, sitting on his bed, kicking his feet watching the videos.

He'd even taken to writing notes on the facts he found most interesting as he watched, mostly about Quidditch. Sometimes, though, he'd get distracted. He'd find himself closing his eyes, entranced by the smooth accent, trying to figure out where the faceless guy could be from. (Didn't sound like London Cockney, Scouse, Irish, or Scottish. He settles on West Country or Welsh.) Regardless of what it was, it sounded vaguely familiar. No matter how hard he tried to think, though, he couldn't place how or where from.

Not only did he take notes; He had a tendency to leave comments on the videos. Sirius would never admit it out loud, but… some of them were quite flirtatious. In his head, he'd never have to see the bloke or converse with him, so it wasn't that corny. Plus, there were a few other comments under the creators’ videos making similar statements, albeit, not many. He only had a few dozen followers last time Sirius had checked.

Anyhow, the comments Sirius made ranged from: “wow, this bloke should do ASMR to put me to sleep“ to “his arms are so hot idccc. choke me and talk about history plsssss” to “if this guy was my teacher i'd never miss a class. in fact, lemme stay late 🤫”

The mysterious man didn't seem to mind, though- cheeky bastard liked ALL the amorous, slutty comments.

As the weeks went on, Sirius watched a little less, getting busy with other things.

For instance, his good friend Remus loved dragging him to the library. Whether they had a test to study for or not, Moony loved to be there.

Sirius didn't mind so much. Only, it was always brain-numblingly quiet in the library. And boring. Remus would dig his nose in a book and Sirius, not too particularly interested in reading, would stroll along the aisles and aisles of books, unable to sit still for long. He'd splay himself out on the luxurious couches and chairs, count how many red books he could find, bother Remus, or, on the rare occasion, he'd sit and study.

Today, though, he didn't feel like doing any of those. He sat with Remus as he read and, curiously, pulled out a notebook from Remus' stack.

Remus gave him a strange, wary look but Sirius ignored it. Nearly all his notebooks looked exactly the same- very boring. They looked like nearly everybody elses’ at Hogwarts. Remus didn't bother with fancy things and Sirius had always admired that about him. He flipped to a blank page and started doodling. Remus went back to his book.

He wasn't very good at drawing, James was better at that, but he doodled anyway. He doodled the book Remus was reading. He sketched the Whomping Willow, just outside. He wrote his name in his best cursive. He attempted the intricate woodwork carved in the windowsill but that was too hard.

Giving up, he turns to Remus, “I'm bored. I'm going to see if any Hufflepuffs have snacks.”

“Have fun.” Remus says, not even looking up from his book.

Sirius rolls his eyes, “More fun than you, surely.”

“I don't doubt it….” Remus flashes a cocky, shit-eating grin, then, “Ask Amos; He usually has chocolate.”

Unfortunately, with Amos nowhere to be found, the only snacks the Hufflepuffs were willing to give up was an apple. Sirius was hoping for something better, but munched on his apple on the way up to the Gryffindor common room, anyway.

After Quidditch practice and dinner, he was just about ready for bed. The next day, he decided sleepily, he'd check up on the Mystery Man geek.

Sitting in his room, the next morning, he’d been paused on history-nerd’s video for 5 minutes (and counting). His heart thumped in his chest.

There, clear as day, were his doodles from yesterday on his screen. The Whomping Willow. The wandering, twisting woodwork from the windowsill. HIS NAME WAS RIGHT THERE IN THE VIDEO.

Sirius had refreshed, double-checked the username, and scrolled through his other videos multiple times in disbelief.

The nerdy guy- REMUS- had deliberately paused on the page, only for a second. But Sirius knew. It was a message to him, “Hey, idiot, you've been watching me (flirting) this whole time.”

He locks his phone, throws it across his bed, and screams into his pillow.

“Alright, mate?” James says from his corner of the room.

“Never better.” Sirius manages even though he's never felt more like a clueless idiot. He stares at the bunk above him for hours until he falls asleep, avoiding his classes and Remus for the time being.

Later in the evening, woken from his nap, Sirius realizes he can't lay in bed all day. Plus, he'd prefer not to skip dinner, as he usually gets too hungry if he does. He begrudgingly gets out of bed and makes his way to the Great Hall for a meal.

Downstairs, he sits next to James who looks at him rather quizzically.

“Dude, where were you all day? McGonagall almost lost her shit.” James starts.

“Listen- I don't care about McGonagall. I'm going to tell you something and you'd better keep your mouth shut…” Sirius says, glancing around nervously.

James nods.

“Okay. So. I've been watching this guy who makes videos about history. I know- not really my thing… but the guy was hot, right? Like mysterious hot. He didn't show his face. Well, I kept leaving comments flirting with him. Kinda as a joke but….” Sirius trails off, “Anyway, the fucking hot, nerdy, history guy is REMUS. And I just found out. He wanted me to find out- I know that much. But I haven't seen or talked to him since. Thank, God. What do I even say? He probably thinks I'm a fucking creep now. And- the thing is- he's been liking my comments the whole time. Obviously, my profile has my name on it and he knows it's me. I just don't know what the fuc-”

“So… do you like him?” James interrupts.

“Who?”

“Remus, dumbass.”

“James- Don't. Don't even… go there.”

“I mean…” James mumbles.

“What? Spit it out then, cocksucker.”

“You kinda already DID go there, no? What kinda comments did you leave anyway? Maybe you could just play it off…? You could say you knew it was him the whole time.” James offers, stuffing food in his mouth.

“No… it wouldn't make sense. The comments were too… flirtatious and… oblivious for me to have known it was him the whole time.”

James simply chuckles, “You wanna fuck Remus.”

“Oh, fuck off.” Sirius grabs his leftover food and heads back to the dorms.

“AND you're a moron for not recognizing him.” James laughs and yells after Sirius.

Headed to the dorms he thinks maybe he's making a big deal out of nothing. Surely, Remus wouldn't have liked all the comments if he was freaked out with his flirting. James laughed it off so, maybe it could just be a joke?

He greets the Fat Lady, mumbles the meaningless nonsense they call a Gryffindor password, and is greeted by Remus scribbling away at one of the common room tables, fireplace lit.

Sirius screams, only, it was inside his head.

Remus hears it, anyway, though, and looks up at him, attention away from whatever he was writing. He immediately smirks.

“Hi, eating dinner in you room to avoid me some more?”

“Yupp.” Sirius tries not to laugh out of sheer awkwardness.

“Sounds good. Are you gonna study some history later?”

“Oh, fuck off, Remus.”

“C’mon, don't be like that…” Remus tries to keep his ever-lasting smirk down, throwing his quill aside.

The fact of the matter, no matter how embarrassed Sirius was, Remus loved it. He loved that the entire time- he didn't know it was him. He knew he didn't. The comments; they were too filthy to be a joke. One of his favorites, “Study sesh when? I get an answer right, u strip? 🤝” specifically played in his mind over and over. Especially at night. Or in the shower.

And, above all, Sirius thought he was hot. One of the most gorgeous men in the school- possibly the most gorgeous man Remus had ever seen- was flirting with HIM. It boosted his ego. Just a bit.

“Remus…” Sirius starts.

And the look on his face, the poor guy, it made Remus almost feel bad. You could tell he felt like he'd gotten in trouble or made Remus uncomfortable. Of course, Remus wasn't uncomfortable. Other than when he thought of him at night. Or in the shower.

Otherwise, he thought it was quite funny.

“C’mere, Siri.” Remus says and Sirius’ heart melts into a puddle on the floor.

“What's wrong?” Remus asks when Sirius sits with him at the table.

“I feel like I crossed a li-” Sirius starts.

“Do you think I'm bothered? Do you think I'd drag you with me to the library? I mean- do you think I'd like all the comments, obviously from you?” Remus interrupts before Sirius can even finish.

“Maybe…” Sirius takes a breath. He feels better knowing Remus wasn't mad at him, at least.

“You're always so dramatic.” Remus teases, “Also, you realize James texted me literally as soon as you left dinner.”

“Stupid, loud-mouthed, assh-” Sirius is interrupted again. Only, this time, Remus is kissing him. His mouth is on his, and, before Sirius can even comply with the kiss, Remus pulls away.

“So dramatic…” Remus repeats with a smile.

Sirius says nothing, somewhat stunned.

“So… about that strip tease?” Remus grins and Sirius turns bright red.

“I hate you.” Sirius presses his eyes shut in a cringe.

“Mmhmm… I doubt you'd get enough answers right, anyway," Then, "Let's go upstairs…” Remus hums and takes Sirius’ hand in his.

Remus, for a split second, backtracks and grabs his history textbook from the table.

Sirius gives him a cheeky look, "I mean... I've been studying."
