Hell, maybe he could. Maybe they were about to find out. Trinity Santos is attacked at work, and Langdon and Whitaker are the first on scene.

I really like the Trinity POV in the first chapter, as well as the unlikely duo of Whitaker and Langdon!

While Whitaker made a beeline for his bathroom, Trinity took a detour to the living room to turn on the ac. Their apartment only had window units and there was no point in wasting the energy to cool an empty space for twelve hours during the day, so they only ran them while they were home. Hopefully the stuffy room would cool down by the time they had dinner ready, Trinity felt like she was in a sauna. And it was a Tuesday. On Tuesdays when they were both home at a reasonable hour, they always made tacos. Maybe it was cliche, but they both enjoyed the ritual of it. Trinity could admit to herself that she was looking forward to it as she headed down the hall to her room. A slice of life fic following Trinity and Dennis post-shift

This one is slice of life and soooooo good. I really liked being able to see how the two of them interact as roommates!

I loooooove this plot idea! Even though it's unfinished, I've really enjoyed it so far.

The bite scenes in this one are to die for, so good and so well described

Her teeth slip into his carotid so easily. Easier than she ever imagined. Like she was made just for this. The taste of his blood slides over her tongue, hot and rich and intoxicating. And she knows, even through the haze of her blood lust, why Robby is adamant that no one in their coven drink directly from the source. Why he forces them all to drink donated blood, cold and bland, but good enough. Because Samira Mohan would do anything, anything, to taste Jack Abbot’s blood again. She has had him for less than a minute, has his blood actively filling her cramping belly, and she is already wondering when she can have it again. If he would let her have it again.

As you can already tell from this summary, the bite scene in this one is incredible.

I would definitely mind some of the tags on this one, but it's soooo worth reading in my opinion

Robby was annoyingly good at reading him, so he had to avoid the older attending for now. There wasn't anything necessarily wrong with him, he was just really tired. And ever since they started dating two months ago, Robby worried about him way too much. He knew it just meant that Robby cared about him, but he couldn't handle it right now. Because, you see, Dennis was keeping a really big secret from his boyfriend. He knew he needed to talk to Robby soon. It would explain a lot of his weird behaviors, but how do you tell your boyfriend you're actually a vampire?

Slightly shorter, but is amazing. Robby and Dennis' relationship in this one is super sweet.

Bloodbound by mangocheese08

Dennis Whitaker has been a vampire since 1957 and a medical student at the Pitt for nearly a year. He's been stealing expired blood from the hospital to survive, carefully hiding what he is from everyone. Then his attending, Dr. Michael Robinavitch, catches him. Instead of reporting him, Robby helps Dennis get legal access to blood donations. They grow closer. Dennis falls hard. Robby falls harder. Both of them are too scared to do anything about it. Turns out being dead for sixty-seven years doesn't mean you can't find love. Who knew.

This one is 9 chapters long, and the plot is to die for. Also two of the tags are 'Blood Drinking' and 'Yum' so you know that these scenes are gonna be good

Dr. Robby invited Whitaker for drinks with him and Dr. Abbot. Whitaker tries not to think too hard about it, but it's hard not to when Dr. Robby is so touchy and Dr. Abbot seems to be flirting with him.

I just read the first few chapters, and wow, this is super good!! Some of those tags sound super interesting too ('Jack Abbot is a biter' and 'Needy Dennis Whitaker' in particular). Thanks for sharing your fic!

Ooh thanks for that ask! Let me see what I've got. Surprisingly, there's not that many fics with this trope (yet. I plan to change that)

After a long moment, Robby huffed a resigned laugh, like he wondered why he even bothered protesting. "Jack, would you like to come hiking with me?"

Another amazing fic by the wonderful Alethia, I genuinely loved reading this one. The whole fic isn't all about the trope, but it's so good I thought I'd recommend it anyway.

At Ease, Doctor by a_bit_of_laurie

When Jack gets a letter in the mail inviting him to the American Veterans Ball, he stresses out about going alone and decides the best course of action is to ask Robby to go as his plus one and pretend to be a couple. Robby struggles to keep his pining a secret as he agrees to be stuck in D.C. with his best friend for an entire weekend.

This is also fairly long, and it also has fake dating!

Jack needs to make one last road trip home, Robby can't help but invite himself along. Add in a snow storm, a car that decides to give up and a hotel...

Even though this fic is a bit shorter, I still enjoyed it so much! Jack and Robby's characterization is impeccable

Alone With Our Guilty Hands by 1917luvr

One month into his ER rotation, fourth-year med student Dennis Whitaker is selected by his attending, Dr.Robby, to attend a medical conference in San Francisco. The same attending he'd been pinning over since his first shift. It doesn't hit him how unbearable such close proximity in a more relaxed environment could be till he's already there. To make matters worse, when it's decided that he and Robby will be rooming together, they unlock the hotel door to reveal a suite with a single large king-sized bed. Or There was only one bed.

This one is also a classic, but I can't not recommend it. I really love the writing style in this one, it's so good.

She would never be caught dead saying it out loud, but Trinity loved Dennis. She loved watching him with patients, she loved how he took care of everyone around him, and she loved how his existence slowly crept into her life until she couldn't image it without him. Or Trinity and Dennis get closer the longer he lives with her and she isn't quite sure how to feel about it. Or the beginnings of a Trinity and Dennis QPR because I want them to be happy roommates forever.

This is a nice quick oneshot that I love so so so much, very slice-of-life ish <3

He had never hated the sound of his own voice as much as he did right then. --- Or, Dennis is anxiously headed home for a "wedding" in Broken Bow, Nebraska, the details of which are increasingly fuzzy. Robby's got a medical conference in Omaha that same weekend. So they carpool. Seventeen hours both ways in an enclosed space with no way out except a tuck and roll. This'll go great.

This Hucklerobby fic has been on my list of fics to read cause it seemed super good. I'm glad I got an excuse to read it now!

Refusal of Care by Ssleepilyy

Robby gripped the back of Dennis’s shirt like he feared he would float away. The touch was wild against Dennis’s senses. Every point of contact felt electric and all consuming. Robby’s pulse ran like a rabbit in his chest and Dennis could feel it like a live wire sending shocks throughout his body. His mouth watered and the rawness returned to his gums. His fangs itched for something soft to tear into. His fingers pressed into Robby’s lower back as he exhaled against the old man’s chest. For the first time since he had been hit, the vampire felt no pain- only eagerness. ______________ Whitaker dies on the job and Dr. Robby is perplexed when no one seems to remember. Even more so that, according to everyone, Dennis went home after his shift ended- alive and well… Or: Dennis is having the worst couple days of his life and literally cannot catch a break for one second.

Dennis has forgotten how to eat. Robby and Jack teach him how to live again. Three traumatized doctors fall in love while learning that recovery is messy, non-linear, and possible.

This one is soooo sweet, and watching Dennis slowly get more accepting of Robby and Jack's help is so good

Dennis Whitaker has a hard time breaking his "I don't need food habit because I'm broke as dirt" and now people think he has a possible eating disorder. He's fine of course, if only the hitting the floor and having a seizure hadn't happened in front of everyone in the Pitt.

This fic is medium length, and I really enjoyed the plot in it!

Symptoms he would have noticed in patients immediately. “Your BMI is pushing you into a danger zone. We need to talk about diet, exercise, and addressing the level of stress in your life. Too much cortisol and you’ll just be canceling out any lifestyle changes.” Her hands are cool and professional as she palpates his abdomen. Robby considers the ceiling while she finishes his physical exam. When was the last time he used BMI in his treatment of a patient? Message received: he has to lose weight. Doctor’s orders.

This one focuses on Robby's mental health so well. The second fic in this series is also super good!

He doesn’t eat, not when the food is in front of him and begging to be eaten. Santos says that he can have whatever he wants from her apartment but he doesn’t take her up on the offer. It’s not that he doesn’t want to eat and doesn’t like food. It’s more that he likes the feeling of being empty and weightless and doesn’t like the feeling of heaviness. Dennis will swear to anyone who asks that it doesn’t have anything to do with his childhood. Meals being taken away in the name of God due to a little misbehaviour. Or how his body has gotten used to surviving on the minimal amount of food due to being unhoused. Hospital sandwiches are all that his diet is being made up of and he doesn’t even like them very much. Or Dennis develops an eating disorder

OR: When Samira brings him in on a procedure, Ogilvie crosses the line from eagerness into disrespect. Jack is there to see it. He does not like what he sees.
