Hi! My name is Onyx, and this blog is mainly about my witchcraft practices, tips, and experiments, but occasionally I'll reblog something silly >:D

I'm transmasc, use he/him, and I'm taken in a loving relationship. As you can see, I really like birds (I'm autistic and birds have been my special interest literally since I knew what a bird was lol). My favorites are ducks and parrots, both of which I have had as pets!

I am a practitioner of "gray magic" which means I may do some "morally gray" spellwork sometimes, most often just taking energy/pep from very morally corrupt people when I have no motivation to do anything. I don't usually send harm to anyone, and VERY rarely do hexes with intent to harm. I think most of my "gray magic" can be considered jinxes. Most of my magic is constructive or protective however.

this worked for me! i highly recommend for therians/otherkin who havent figured out their kintype, to just be still, sit or lay in a comfortable position, and try this technique:

1. in your minds eye imagine yourself in the natural environment that makes you feel at home. maybe its a deciduous forest, a desert, or even deep in the ocean. focus on immersing yourself in this setting through your 5 senses. do you feel the heat of the sun, or snow falling on you? what kinds of life do you see around, whether plant or animal? (at this time, just observe your surroundings/home, dont focus too much on "what/who am i") are there any specific nostalgic scents that catch your attention, such as the scent of pine sap, or maybe the smoke of a campfire or chimney nearby?

2. immerse yourself in this beautiful world, this world that you know is/was your home. enjoy the moment. enjoy being here. dont think about yourself, just explore and see the (hopefully) familiar sights.

3. at some point, you might feel some kind of instinct, like wanting to fly, burrow, or hunt. or even just curl up in a ball and sleep! for me it was running to the top of a cliff and jumping into flight. and i say, do it! this is your memory, not your current human life.

Came home from my trip to see that my sister got me an advent calendar as a Christmas present. As a kid the only advent calendar I ever got was one with a small piece of candy for every day, which me and my sister would take turns every other day. I saw the chocolate-brown box and thought "oh she got me chocolate for Christmas" but OH MY GOD ITS A CRYSTAL ADVENT CALENDAR AND IM SO HYPED

This is a pic I took on December 5th when I returned home, and I know what all of them are except the peach-pink one (which I suspect is watermelon quartz or something). Yesterday the 6th I got a beautiful cluster necklace of what I think is white quartz, and today I got a rust-brown stone that I haven't yet identified. I'm very excited about this!!!

There was a time in October 2021 when I was living with my cousin and his parents due to problems with my immediate family. I quickly discovered that they have lots of clovers growing in their yard, and the vast majority of them were 4-leaf clovers! I was asking my aunt HOW DID YOU GET ALL THESE 4 LEAF CLOVERS TO GROW and she was like "idk they just grow in my yard." I discovered that there are 4-leaf clover seeds for sale online - have not bought any yet as I need to get my own house before doing any gardening (strict parents rip) but I think they're legit.

Anyways, my cousin was dabbling in witchcraft stuff occasionally, and both of us were trying to sell things on Poshmark because no job would hire us. He had a random idea to get an old pot out of the garage that his parents forgot to unpack or something when they moved there years ago, and told me to gather 100 4-leaf clovers from the front yard, which was easy considering they were EVERYWHERE.

He then put the clovers in the pot, took it out to the dock where we would fish together, set the pot down, and pulled out a cigarette lighter and lit the clovers on fire. I was like DUDE WTF YOURE GONNA BURN THE DOCK UP!!! so he put an old metal panel from an old car underneath it, so the heat wouldnt get to the wooden dock as easily. This was the EPITOME of Central Florida redneck trash culminated in a magic ritual.

We both said a prayer to the higher powers asking that we have good luck and earn more money so we could live more comfortably. We could feel the power from the smoke being blown by the wind towards us, we were coughing our lungs out, but when the clovers were burnt to ashes my cousin dumped the pot into the lake.

Fast forward a month later, nearly all my cousin's Poshmark items were sold, and I got especially lucky - I was pursuing a digital art freelance career, and got a FLOOD of commissions around New Years Eve, and well into 2022. I believe this actually worked wonders.

Among a few other trinkets, I bought an unbroken geode - "you buy it, you break it." It's about the size of a baseball. I've decided to hold it in my hands during meditation to infuse it with positive energy, and eventually I will break it. My thoughts are that when it's broken, it would bring a big burst of positive energy, since white/clear quartz is known as an energy amplifier and the majority of those geodes in the shop are white quartz (with some other colors occasionally).

Cleaning my crystal/trinket bowl and I thought I'd share my stuff!

There's quite a few jewelry pieces with deep meaning to me that I keep in there:

- Blue opal necklace/bracelet - bought from a small business along with a pink opal one, which I sent as a gift to my long distance friend. We can be connected energetically ^^

- Lemon obsidian bracelet - bought from a now-closed mom and pop crystal shop in my hometown. Helps me feel not as homesick, because I believe it still carries the energy of the area (I was forcibly moved far away, not illegally but very unfortunate)

- Moss agate arrowhead necklace - bought from yet another mom and pop business, this one near my new "home" and gets me in the mood for adventure and moving out of my comfort zone

- 2 parrotlet enamel pins from a small artist, in memory of my 2 parrotlets I had. I sometimes feel their spiritual presence/energy when wearing them.

- Metal dragon bracelet - The only one that wasn't bought from a mom and pop business, I bought it on Wish when I was 17 LMAOOOO anyways it brings the energy of the time, the vibe I was in before corona hit, the freedom and sense of adventure, the mischievous and daring side of me with courage.

I've had Soda accompanying me next to my computer for a few weeks, as I'm hyperfixating on a game from my childhood and have been playing it a lot. Lots of nostalgia and happy vibes. When I'm really enjoying myself, I'll give him a little scritch on the head, and whisper that I love him. He is my embodiment of purity, sweet love, comfort, and safety/security.

The angel aura quartz between his feet is one of my favorite crystals, it brings me a big sense of peace, and I often have that right near him. I like to cleanse and rotate around the crystals I put under his feet as an offering and energizing. I usually use stones such as the quartz pictured, lemon obsidian (both a bracelet and a large tumble), green calcite, aventurine, and similar stones associated with joy and serenity.
