Can I request “If I could, I would give you the world and all its riches. But tonight, I will start with my heart.” for Gale with gn Tav please?
I'm sorry I've not been very active and what not 😔 however I hope this makes up for it.
Life after the Netherbrain assault on Baldur's Gate had been an absolute whirlwind to say the least, parties in the street had raged on for weeks after the populace had learned of what happened. Yourself and the companions you kept could not go anywhere without being accosted, questions of the trials and tribulations of your journey you experienced to people just wanting to say they had met the hero's of Baldur's Gate.
At first then high was addictive, wanting to feel more and more of the admiration of the people, knowing that you were all that stood before them and complete dominion of the elder brain was intoxicating. Then as the weeks went on the admiration of the public finally started to wane, though they were thankful they just no longer revered you with absolute reverence as they did in the beginning.
Then came the dissolution of the party, you all knew it would happen but the blow was not softened by the knowledge of it. Astarion retreated underground with the rest of his charges, the poor spawns that he now has to care for and help to adjust to a new life. Karlach and Wyll took themselves to Avernus in search of a permanent cure for Karlach's condition and half heartedly promised that they would return to see you once again, yet you could see the sadness in Karlach's eyes, heavily suspecting that she did not believe the promise she had just made.
Then there was Gale, the wizard you had come to love and be intimate with along your journey, his happy demeanor helped your deflated mood at first but you knew that it would only last so long. It wasn't that you expected eternal reverence or worship from those you saved, it was more that you felt some sort of emptiness now that your life had no meaning, no memories of what transpired before the tadpole you were essentially a blank slate, and you felt that anything you did now would never live up to being the hero of Baldur's Gate.
Waterdeep is where Gale and yourself made your new home, his old tower was still in his name and it would be more than fitting for a wizard of his renown, even more so after saving Baldur's Gate. Life was easy in Waterdeep and Gale made sure you wanted for nothing, even the slightest mention of wanting anything you could expect to find it at the tower doorstop within the week.
There was no job for you in Waterdeep, you did not need to contribute to the household or prove yourself in anyway, Gale felt that you needed the relaxation and hard earned for several lifetimes after what you had led your party through. A thought you did not share, you wanted stimulation, to not be surrounded by ever suffocating walls in the tower that you were now starting to imagine as your prison walls.
Tonight was no different from your normal routine, Gale returning home from the University and you having dinner ready for his arrival, yet this time you could not fake away the sadness and emptiness that had been building up within you, a fact Gale had noticed quite quickly as he began to eat his meal.
"My love what is wrong?" Gales voice was full of sorrow and concern, it was hard for him to see you so sad when you should both be in your honeymoon stage, enjoying life together and in such a glistening city as Waterdeep.
It was hard to reply truthfully, or even at all, so you shook your head and began to move the food around your plate with your fork as to appear busy and content. That was all that was needed for Gale to position himself at your knees and look up at you with wet pleading eyes.
Gale took one of your hands in his and squeezed it hard. “If I could, I would give you the world and all its riches. But tonight, I will start with my heart." Both Gale's and your eyes started to water at his statement.
"I only wish for the best for you my love, my heart belongs to you and I will go to the ends of the earth with you if that's what you desire." Tears now began to flow freely between the both of you, Gale for thinking he was not making you happy and yourself for feeling that he felt he had to give up anything for you.
You took Gales face in your hands and pulled him into a deep kiss, one that would reassure him that he had nothing to worry about. It lasted several minutes before you both pulled apart and made a joke about the food getting cold. After dinner you seriously acknowledged Gales concern, explaining that living free and having nothing to do was not stimulating, you needed something to work towards, even if it meant travelling again but you just needed something.
Gale smiled and apologised for ever imagining that you feel like you needed to stay here with him, explaining that if you wished to travel then all you needed to do was say so. Gale was your worshiper and would do anything to make you happy, you were his Goddess and your command would be his to follow.
After a few days it was decided that travelling would be good for you both, not like the Netherbrain adventure and slumming it in ruddy campsites or run down taverns, but nice travelling in good taverns, it would help both of you, it would be good.
Only two days after your conversation you were packed and ready to leave, eager and waiting to see what adventure you would encounter, even if it was risk free and exceedingly less dangerous than the one that brought you together, it was something new and exciting for you both and you could not wait to experience it.
