We are Autistic and have ADHD as well as other things
Our system name came from The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe and one of our gatekeepers being a reaper
Our main blog is @stargazingmoth, please behave if you go there (・–・;)
About Our System
We all have at least two names. This is so if someone has the same name as another person, we can avoid confusion
We care very little for conforming to what other people think our system should be. We make up our own roles, let people date in system, ect.
We are "traumagenic", if you want to use that word. We are very strongly anti any type of system that doesn't come from trauma, and don't think traumagenic should have to be a word at all
We often refer to the system with graveyard themed terms. Like Frequent Fronters become Frequent Grave Escapees, Alters become Ghosts, headspace becomes the graveyard or cemetery, and so on. This is just for fun! No need to participate in it
We're very fictive heavy
We are taken by our lovely partner system, and, while we are polyamorous, are not looking to date anyone else atm
Our most frequent fronter by far. He exists to be a reflection of what we "should" be if we were a singlet. Generally IDs with the body, and is the main person our partner system ends up dating

You know when you can *feel* your brain trying to get someone front stuck? Yeah, that. We can feel Reid getting front stuck, and I'm trying extremely hard to stay in front while he's getting forced in. Getting frontstuck sucks for any of us, because we usually switch a few times a day, so it's exhausting for the alter and it's just not good for us collectively. Reid, though, is not good for fronting more than 8 hours max. He's an autism holder, anxiety holder, and trauma holder. In our experience, if he fronts too long it triggers a PTSD episode, a meltdown, or an anxiety and/or panic attack. We would very much like him not to get frontstuck
Someone tried to force the door to the bathroom we were in half an hour ago and to be honest we're not doing so hot. Anyone have unusual grounding tips? The usual things aren't working

Genuine advice to anyone struggling with this: find a couple system friends, online or irl, who align with your views. It's so nice to be able to talk about my experience with people who understand without having to shout my full exact views and tiptoe around sensitive topics. Like I can just tell them "ugh we're blurry today and we split off someone from a movie we watched last night" and they won't respond with "omg faker how could you split someone off LAST NIGHT you have to go through EXTREME TRAUMA for that (ect)" or "congrats on your new alter 🥰🥰 what technique did you use to get them???". They just say "I get that, sorry you're having a bad day" and it's like 😱 a normal reaction to me being a system??
(sorry if any of this is stepping on your toes or comes off as rude op. Its all meant to be genuine. I'm also sorry you're feeling bad 🫂🫂)
Okay actually I'd like to talk about something. Hot take apparently but
If you cannot safely handle an animal, you should not be handling it period
And this is not just in reference to something like "if you don't know how to hold a spider without scaring it into biting you, don't hold it". This means sometimes animals bite, scratch, jump, whatever, without warning. If you cannot deal with the instinct to flinch and drop or shove the animal away, you should not be handling it
The other day, we were holding our cat. He's usually very chill being held and does nothing to resist, but we had just gotten a new box fan. We wanted to encourage him to go a little closer because it freaked him out, which turned out to be a little too close for him. He jumped on our shoulder and scratched the shit out of us, including through to our dermis on our collarbone
Instead of freaking out or being mad or dropping him, we got to the floor as best we could so he could hop off (we couldn't safely grab him off our shoulder and it was unstable for both of us). It was totally our fault for pushing him (he's okay now btw he was fine immediately after), and we gave him love and pets after we washed and bandaged it.
But we got to thinking. That experience was actually heavily triggering due to our history with self harm. However our reaction was to make sure the cat was safe even as we freaked out. It's not that hard to make sure you can safely handle an animal. You just have to remember that they are small and fragile and dumb. Love your animals
I get irrationally irritated when people complain about missing out on things when they can just... Go to the next one. People complain about not going out with their friends this one time because of work or school or whatever.
We are an alternative and heavily political person. We want to go to local concerts and support the scene.
We also have several physical and mental disabilities.
We were completely miserable at the last few concerts we went to, even though we had our wheelchair. It was too loud, people looked at us like we were a freak show, we couldn't even attempt to get into the crowd to see the stage because, again, we were in our wheelchair. We almost passed out because it was so hot in there. Both places would have been completely impossible to access in our wheelchair if we weren't ambulatory. They're not built for people like us, and we were very obviously not welcome.
Today, our partner went to a concert that they not only were very excited about, but obviously were upset that we weren't coming.
Concerts like this are very important to us and to our partner, and I don't think we'll ever go to one again. We don't seem to belong there, and even if we did, it wouldn't be worth the physical and mental stress.
This isn't a "be grateful for what you have" or a "be guilty for not being disabled and having fun" post. I'm just venting. We hate being disabled so much.
Something that's been really frustrating as of late; Our mom is a programmer, and a damn good one. She could probably make a perfect simply plural alternative at least available to us if not everyone very easily. Except she doesn't believe in systems. She has no idea we are one, but she's discredited several sys friends in the past.

Vent or whatever. I feel dumb doing this but if I keep going over it in my head I'm gonna start crying again
Psys probably don't read. Or do. I don't really care
Tw suicide mention
We're so tired of our partner's mother being fine with us being disabled until it affects her in any way that involves other people.
She didn't tell us until we were literally 3 minutes from getting out of the house that we couldn't bring our wheelchair because there wasn't enough room. Our partner said we could put it in the back, which is true, but we just dissociated and walked out the door and didn't bring it. We're only going in the first place because we hate literally every holiday because of trauma and don't want to be alone. She didn't even consider moving any food into the back seat or anything, just decided I couldn't bring my mobility aid.
She does this with our mental disabilities too. Once we walked out of a family meal with her family to lock ourself in the bathroom so we could have a panic attack. She proceeded to be upset with us for being difficult and rude.
We've also expressed many times that not having a proper schedule and not knowing when we're leaving is really stressful. She says she'll try, but has not ever actually made an effort to get within an hour of when she said she'll leave.
We're grateful for many things she's done for us, but we're just tired of being treated like our disabilities should be optional when it's something that might "embarrass" her. We've literally tried to kill ourself because we're in physical pain all the time and because we hate ourself and everyone else hates us because we're weird and embarrassing. But whatever.
We just had the worst nightmare we've had in a very long time, maybe ever. And that's saying something, because we have nightmares almost nightly.
Tw for an animal getting badly hurt and a description of it. Again, it wasn't real, it was just a dream, but still
It felt so real. All our nightmares feel real, but this one was worse. There's usually still a lot of dream logic, but there was hardly any in this one.
I was doing something completely unrelated in the dream, and I was in my room. Then, one of my cats, Gizmo, fell off the shelf attached to my desk. I was like "okay, he does that, he's fine", and then I noticed he was on the bed and walking weird. I thought he was peeing on the bed, so I went over to stop him, but he had laid down so I realized it wasn't that.
I saw something white and some blood, so I assumed he fell on something and hurt himself. I took a closer look, prepared for a piece of plastic acting like a splinter in his foot or something, but his leg was snapped almost completely off at the knee. I told my partner not to look and to get their parents.
We spent a bit getting ready to go to the vet, then I laid down with Gizmo again. I watched his blood drip onto my hand, the flow getting faster, and started freaking out more.
It was around there I woke up. I checked on my cat (he's fine) and then called my partner over from the shower. It's been half an hour. I can still feel the blood on my hand.
