Everything is certainly not okay
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/police-racism-us-cities-human-rights-cops-george-floyd-breonna-taylor-a9580251.html
University of Chicago study warns law enforcement authorised to commit ‘state-sanctioned violence’ without significant reform
Where’s that tweet that said America would invade America if America wasn’t America.
Almost like this was done of purpose to keep certain groups of ppl from voting
When Black people say that racism is systemic this is what we mean. By being over policed we are in constant danger of being disenfranchised.
The modern 3/5ths compromise
[re: this post]
Very broadly speaking, Political Correctness, Call Out culture and Cancel Culture were/are all reactions to racism, misogyny, homophobia and other isms.
And every single time, the (predominantly white) pushback has always been to tell the marginalized group to just be more forgiving, because they’re being too mean.
It’s like how, after centuries of sexism and rape culture, two minutes of the #MeToo movement was somehow seen as having gone too far.
It’s a reaction to a perceived loss of power. It’s projection. It’s flipping the script and playing the role of the aggrieved victim.
Look, if BLM is the meat of the social justice movement, then things like Cancel Culture can be the bread. We are asking people to change very problematic (often racist) behaviors.
And just for added clarity: nobody is talking about a 24yr old who once said some fucked up shit way back when they were 13. Can you find examples of someone getting cancelled in cases like that? Sure, but once again - that’s a red herring. It’s a feint, a misdirection meant to throw us off topic. It’s a small percentage. It’s like the men’s rights groups that pop up in the middle of conversations about sexism directed at women.
If you listened to those defending famous people who have gotten cancelled, they would have you believing that absolutely every single one of their problematic faves who said fucked up shit has spent the last 15yrs profusely apologizing, and is currently giving away all of their wealth and feeding the homeless every day. (does anyone remember when Samantha B used her platform to try to give Glenn Beck a second chance, because “he apologized”? Can anyone tell me what Mr. Beck has been doing lately? hint: he’s still being racist)
We are talking about people who generally belong to oppressor groups, with fame and/or wealth, and large platforms. When they do or say racist/misogynistic/homophobic/transphobic things, THEN THEY NEED TO GET CALLED OUT AND WE HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO CANCEL THEM. Sometimes people deserve to get cancelled.
Cancel Pewdiepie. Cancel Shane Dawson. Cancel Roseanne. Cancel problematic people. I’m cool with that.
If people like them really wanted to come back and be forgiven, well then there’s actual steps they have to take to actually prove that they’ve learned a lesson. And guess what? Literally ALL of those people will still be ridiculously rich, whether we forgive them or not. So please forgive me if I don’t feel sorry for a super wealthy (white) person who has a sad because they suffered the consequences of exercising their free speech. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
And sorry, but apologies do not have to be accepted, and nobody deserves instant forgiveness without showing some genuine contrition first.
Lastly, I see a lot of people calling Cancel Culture “toxic.” All I’m gonna say is, it’s more projection.
We are demanding justice for the deaths of unarmed victims by the police!
Today, one of you sent me this, and asked me to share it and I think it's very important to do so. Please check the site out and help if you can.

Acab because the people that made this meme thinks the cops should just kill someone like this
Cops having a chuckle because they’re too cowardly to take a beating in order to save a life. All cops are cowards.
Yeah, my friend is a social worker who works in prisons. I guarantee you he could de-escalate that guy without needing to shoot him. There are people who are literally trained to do that, and there’s no reason they couldn’t either replace the cops or train the cops to do it, too.
“Why don’t you guys just get the fuck over it ” - Becky voice .
“Why are you resisting ? Be peaceful .”
Don’t ever let this post die . *Good history Twitter pg to follow *
“It was a long time ago get over it” Jim voice.. Cough, only 54 years ago for Kenya 🇰🇪, 55 years for Jamaica, 70 years ago for India, 50 years ago Aboriginal people weren’t counted as people, they were under the Flora and Fauna Act…
Not to mention the aboriginal stolen generation where children were literally taken from their families and given to white families to “assimilate” them and it’s still terrible the gap between white Australians and indigenous Australians.
Because we dont talk enough about this in the UK, especially not in schools. It is, at best, glossed over if mentioned at all.

DON’T IGNORE US!
*You don’t need to donate to change.org, donate directly to the families. Also if there’s a problem with a petition (or you have a petition I should add), please dm me instead of reblogging so I can fix it faster.*
I would love to see the anti immigration conservatives do this for at least 30 mins..
Donate: We can’t do Thanksgiving without farm workers
Friendly reminder that most farm workers are paid nearly nothing via loopholes (don’t have to follow minimum wage if you arent paying by the hour!)
And that “unskilled labor” isn’t an actual thing. It’s just used by desk jockeys who play on the internet all day instead of working so they feel superior to everyone who actually does the work they profit off of. And of course, to make themselves feel better for the abuse they dish out.

lowering the social stigma of gender nonconformity also lowers the threshold of how bad people have to be suffering before they’re willing to discuss their feelings openly. I guarantee you that a TON of humans who felt vaguely alienated by/uncomfortable with their assigned gender have lived and died within a cisgender identity framework, because the enormous social cost of being honest just wasn’t worth it if they weren’t miserable. that was a bad thing!
letting people weigh their options for themselves without putting a thumb on the scale is freeing. so of course we’ve started hearing people discuss wildly unusual ways of experiencing gender. it does not matter whether the teenagers who made up the goofy-sounding new gender term you’re annoyed about end up being capital-T trans or not. it just matters that they feel safe talking about it, because everyone benefits from that. you cannot lower one threshold without lowering the other. this is a feature, not a bug. this is a good thing!
According to a 59-count criminal complaint, three officers were charged with conspiracy, filing false reports, and prepping fraudulent documents for court.
