For the fourth consecutive year, Murder will open its season with a revealing flash-forward — but this one has a twist, per EP Pete Nowalk. “Our other questions have been, who shot Annalise? Who killed Sam? Who killed Wes?” Nowalk teased. “This time, the question is a where.” Another central question for Season 4 will be why, in fact, Laurel’s dad conspired to have Wes murdered. “This is the perfect way to reveal more of where [Laurel] comes from,” Nowalk says. “It will make a lot of sense why he ordered Wes to be killed. It’s fun to dig more into what Laurel’s backstory is and create a mystery around her family.”
