it took me an embarassingly long time to finally sit down and scribble this garbage (/j). Happy Pride Month everyone i hope my contributions only enrich our community

Because it's actually so important to me that Iron Lung and Project Hail Mary were released together and its actually so important that they were released now

Because how much are you willing to do? How much are you willing to pay for the sake of everyone? Are you willing to trade yourself in for all the people you love? Are you willing to trade yourself in for all the people you hate? For all the people you will never know? That will never know you?

You've done bad things. They've done bad things. Nobody here is a saint, everyone has blood on their hands

But humanity still deserves to live, no? It still deserves to be saved. Because it's....good. Yes it's war and death and crimes that we ourselves had to invent names for to properly describe their horror

But it's also thinking of the kids. It's cradling your dead comrades and commending them to the stars even when you barely remember your own name. It's wrapping a black box in the only available lifejacket. It's asking your mom to protect it because it can help so many more people than just yourself. It's turning around because and abandoning your chance at going back home for the sake of saving your friend and his people. It's choosing the greater good even at the price of your own fate

And is that not in itself humanity? Is that not what we're supposed to be??
