SKIN UPDATE!⁠ ⁠ I've come a long way mentally and physically. I hated looking in the mirror and I hated leaving my house, but now I noticed that my face is not in as much pain as it was last year and I finally love my face. Don't get me wrong there are days when I'm just not feeling myself, last week being one of those days. So I took this picture and I can see how far I've come. Random thought...⁠ Why are we expected to hide our acne for an interview or when our dress code is to look presentable? Does having acne, or scars determine your worth? ⁠ I would hope not but if I'm being real a lot of us wear makeup to job interviews, I'm not saying don't ever wear makeup because you can do whatever you want, but why is it expected? I am guilty of wearing a full face of makeup to interviews because I was insecure of my acne and scars. ⁠ I think the "criteria" for an interview or dress code for work should not be to hide your acne. Acne does not stop one from doing their job so why should we hide it? Acne is normal and it is not a side effect of being a bad person. Staying home with my family all day made me realize more how important it is to talk about mental health. I feel as if I am going backwards trying to explain every symptom I have to my parents because they are seeing me at all hours of the day. They still don't understand, I am not expecting them to understand me completely but I wish they could try to see my mental disability instead of just calling me lazy or dramatic. I have good days and I have bad days, but I am trying my best to understand that my parents don't really know about mental health illnesses by educating them in the best way I can. Hi! I always hated taking pictures on my phone camera. I usually took my selfies on Snapchat or Instagram Story camera because I felt like my phone's camera would focus on my texture. I woke up this morning and told myself "Get ready and take pictures outside!" I live in a quadruplex so I'm pretty sure my neighbors were wondering what I was doing but I didn't care. I was nervous at first but I got over it once I got into it. I try to not take pictures with Snapchat lenses or Insta Story filters because they smooth my skin. I do like to color grade my photos for an aesthetic look but I don't Facetune my face or body.
