Unhinged Character Enjoyer

So I would like to start off by saying I know he’s an evil irredeemable bastard that relishes in the destruction he causes. BUT that’s part of exactly why I got into his character in the first place. 

Most Viltrimutes (save for like, Mark and somewhat Oliver) go out of their way to justify their violent actions through means of ‘duty’ and trying to help those they deem lesser than them. They very much have a ‘might means right’ attitude. With Conquest, he openly enjoys fighting and destroying and maiming others - he doesn’t hide this fact at all and opens up about it in the first few minutes we see him. He is just outright ‘I love fighting and I love that you gave me a chance to not hold back’ - he is so unapologetic about it. Dudes a sadist, knows he’s a sadist, and relishes in it. He has fun with it.

Even with that there is the one part his introduction episode (the ‘I Am So Lonely’ speech which is unique to the show) that I love because it gives his character depth without forgiving his actions. And I love how he ends it too of just ‘take it to your grave’ and he just tries to kill Mark after trauma dumping on the dude which I just think is oddly funny like does he do this with everyone? Does he do this to Battle Beast in the comics (I have not read them yet there are more Battle Beast centric comics and I’m happy about that because these two sadomasocists were made for each other)? Like sir I get you’re lonely but my god man.

Conquest is a weird blend of sad wet cat and rabid feral dog to me. Part of me does wonder just how much his character could reflect the he idea of nature vs. nurture because while the society he grew up in rewarded excessive violence and force and looked down on weakness, he also clearly doesn’t regret all the harm he causes and adores violence.
