âFace it kiddo, I am not a good âsnekâ, I am not what you think I amâ said the tired and defeated Serperior as he hopelessly looked into Robertâs unaccepting eyes
âBut you ARE a good snek Mr. Snoot!â Robert nearly yelled âI donât care about what you did! Past is the pastâŚm-maybe back then you were not a good snek but you are NOW, youâve changed into somebody who I consider one of my best friends because you are so nice to me and I sense NO dishonesty in every word you say, in every action that you do!â
Excalibur sighed, âKid-â
âNO!â Robert stressed as his eyes waved with a thin layer of water, never taking his focus away from the large serpentâs relaxed gaze âI wonât let you keep thinking that you are someone who you are no longer, anymore!â He then swallowed hard, allowing his voice to become clearer as he raised his voice even more. âItâs not right that despite how nice you are t-to me and Jesus and your hooman trainer, you still say you are bad! I hate to sound mean Mr. Snoot b-butâŚâ
As Robertâs watery eyes formed little trickles of tears which ran down his blue and furry body, Excalibur found himself not wanting to argue against the little one and so he allowed him to continue, âAlways clinging on to what you were as a way of denying how good you truly are does nothing but hurt you and everyone else around you!â he then suddenly reached out to touch the gigantic snakeâs head as he almost whispered âbecause nobody wants to see you sad about something that you did a long time ago when you were a different person when nowadays, you are one of the friendliest sneks around!â.
Ex, looked down for a moment and then back at Robert âWhat if I told you about all the things I have done wrong? Yes, what I did was not in my control, believe me kiddo, I accepted that a long time ago but what I cannot get rid of the fact that it was me, nevertheless, I did those things, nobody elseâŚâ
In an act of spontaneous and swift speaking, Robert immediately answered back whilst his little grip on the big snakeâs face lightly tightened, âWhat if I told you that does not matter anymore! The person you were then is NOT who you are now! Whether it was you or not who did those things, it does not matter because who you were then, would not be doing what you are doing now!â
âKiddo, why-â
âIf you were bad, you wouldnât be giving my hugs to help me sleep at night, you would not make anywhere NEAR the amount of friends you make now, you probably wouldnât have a family who LOVES you and understands you, and I probably would have been too scared to even want to know you!â
There was then a resounding silence as they both looked at each other and when Ex found himself not being able to look away from Robertâs concerned and determined-filled eyes, he too felt something, which made his vision blur when he blinked, it was a tear, a tear which streamed down his face, the trail left behind seeping into the very thin gaps between the scales of his body. His look went from tired to defeated, like he wanted to acknowledge what the young pup was saying but could or would not, leaving him with only one thing to ask, if Robert would allow it.
He spoke in a weak whisper âKiddoâŚwhy do you care so much about how I feel about myself? Itâs not even your problemâŚâ
Robert did not hesitate to give his response, but this time it was with a smile, as the tears began to settle into dampening his fur which he rubbed into Exâs skin as he leaned his head onto Exâs. âBecause, I do not want a wonderful friend like you, to ever doubt how truly special you are to me and everyone who calls you their friend or familyâŚâ
Exâs ears lifted up firmly as Robert finished ââŚI think if we all just fight whatever mean feelings that latch onto us from a time that is best forgotten, we can allow the positive feelings of today fill us up with happiness and maybe then, we can just learn to let go.â Robert then felt something all too familiar to him and it only made his smile grow bigger as it wrapped around him, Exâs warm and smooth tail.
âThanks kiddoâ Ex said warmly as he flicked out his tongue with a hearty smile.
âItâs ok, Mister. Snootâ Robert smiled as the snake came down to boop him on the nose.
(I wanted to practice drawing something big and something small and the only character I know who is huge is Ex from @dailyserperior since he is a GIGANTIC SNOOT which is bigger in width and length than a normal Serperior and also, this pic was actually inspired off some of the rpâs we would do and I wanted to kill two birds with one stone by practicing something new whilst also fulfilling the desire to put my idea on paper XD)
