Well here I sit inform of a computer screen, finals week is finally here, a well deserve break lays ahead on the (so far it seems) horizon. Last time I was here was Wednesday, December 11th, and today is Monday late night. Well this week was hard to stay on top of the diet, specially the weekend, since it seemed like everyday of this past weekend was a holiday, with parties left and right, my house had a gift exchange and dinner, and my friends and I had another dinner. Trust me, I did not take it lightly, the last thing on my mind was to loose weight and the first was to eat what was in front of me! I was really stressed last week, which simple lead me to pig-out on snacks, things are slowly calming down, although I know this will be my last all-nighter of the year...since it won't be 2013 for long now hahaha. But at least I can count the things I have left to do in one hand. Today for lunch I had a bowl of rice and a salad, not too bad, but for dinner I was tire and decided to walk the five steps from my place to Jimmy Johns, oops. Will see what tomorrow brings, I plan on not sleeping until tomorrow evening and I will have a protein shake after work at 9am. ( I get to work the morning shift). See ya soon if time allows me to fit a blog in between a few meals...

Alright it seems that every time I have a good start something comes my way that I have to pay more attention to; this time, FINALS! There is so much going on this week with finals being just around the corner and it seems that every professor gives due dates for projects on the same week. Of course this is simply an excuse I like to have for my lack of responsibility and my total award winning procrastination. I have a lot to do this week that the last thing on my mind is food and sleep, why sleep now when I get a whole month ahead?...right? Well it really sucks but I am trying really hard to keep up, as promised for dinner I did have a yummy salad with black beans. This morning how ever for lunch I had to have some sort of caffeine, so I made my way to Caribou. I decided to day was going to be my freebie since I won't get much sleep for the next two days. For lunch I had half of a white sub with tuna and ham and a small bowl of peas, and for dinner I will attend the Holiday dinner at the University Center, that seems a bit promising. Until next time...if I survive the next 72 hours :}

Yesterday was one of the best days, and it was easy! I have been trying to  cut unnecessary carbs from my diet, but I can tell you that is nearly impossible when my favorite foods are pasta, bread and Cheesecake! But yesterday I found a great alternative, a friend from work took me to this place called Nutrition Forever, they sale nutrition shakes, but with your shake not only do you get a shake, but an Aloe shot and tea to clean some toxins in your body and calm the food cravings in your tummy. I love it, then for lunch I was NOT starving for one, and two I had a nice salad for lunch and yogurt for dessert. Had some carrots in between as a small snack and for dinner I had a tuna and avocado  salad. Trying to continue today! For breakfast I had a 8oz cup of strawberry banana smoothie from BoatFarms, and for lunch I plan on a delicious salad with black beans. Wish me luck on my healthy rampage. 

This week was very successful for me, I started with Monday having a fruit bar in the morning, a salad for lunch and tuna and egg sandwich for dinner, my portions were almost right and better then most other days. I was proud of myself, I have been containing my cravings for salty snacks, when I eat in the cafeteria this past week I only went up once, and had only a portion of food where I felt comfortable and did not over eat, which is my biggest problem. Food is simply too good! I have manage my food portion thinking about eating till I am full and not eating because the food tastes good and I have to empty my plate, I think sometimes our culture and society tells us that we must empty our plates when eating and not waste food, but sometimes for our own sake we must be a bit selfish sometimes.  

I know it was has been a while since the last time I log in, but things have been a bit hectic with midterm exams and papers do here and there. Anyway, now that I am back, there has been no change what so ever, since, I have not been eating healthy it all the past two weeks, for example one of my friends works at Chipotle, know what that means, I can get Chipotle carry-out!!!! I had that last night and it was delicious and I have no regrets about that one. Today I started really well I had a banana and a glass of milk for lunch, now that things are settling down it's easier to stay on top of things. For lunch I plan to have a salad, and for dinner I planned on having tuna and avocado. I will log in tomorrow and tell my success in sticking to these meals, hopefully thing will help me stay on track!

Today I had a protein shake for breakfast, good start right? Then for lunch I had chicken strips, I just couldn't resist :( but I chose broccoli as one of my sides, that is a good start for sure, I have never order that! Then some fries, bad choice. But the worse thing about it was that I kept eating even after I was beyond full, it tasted so good. For dinner I will have some vegetable soup I made last week and maybe some fruit before bed. I will stick to this, and I will do some dancing for my exercise. Sounds pretty good. Wish me luck, maybe Ill find a hot dance partner tonight, that will be great motivation. :)

So far this morning I had a bottle of water and I will be heading to lunch soon, anyone have any advice for a poor college student who is trying to be healthy??
