finally i met a man who had made it to the end. “how much further?” i asked. “you’re almost there,” he said “maybe 30 minutes more.” well he must have been much faster than me because 45 minutes later i still hadn’t found the end, but i did eventually cross another man who’d just been there. “how much farther?” i asked them. “you’re almost there,” he said. “maybe thirty minutes.”

over the next hour i met three more people who had successfully finished the trail. i asked every time, but due to some magical geographical anomaly, no matter how far i hiked, i was always somehow 30 minutes from the end. i began to think i would be 30 mins from finished forever.

but i kept walking because someone said there was a waterfall at the end.
