Missed me, Ladybug

I really enjoyed the final episode but.... tbh I expected more shocking scenes to happen, idk why I'm complaining, Marinette's life is ruined already, my poor baby :(

This is probably my favourite line of Alya’s from the whole finale.

Like. God.

She knows Marinette so well.

She knows that Marinette is her own worst enemy, knows that Marinette has—on some level—good intentions. She understands exactly the logic that Marinette has been using to justify her choices. Knows that Marinette will always put her loved ones’ happiness above her own wellbeing.

She doesn’t want to be mad at Marinette. The lie itself hurts, but it also hurts that lie causes Marinette hurt.

Alya looks at Marinette and sees what she's doing to Adrien, she knows Marinette well enough that she is doing it because she wants Adrien to be happy and to have good memories of his father. Adrien is an orphan now and he deserves happiness yes, but he can never fully achieve happiness and closer without knowing the truth. Alya is Adrien's friend and knows that he deserves to know the truth.

But Alya cannot also stand back and watch as this lie is destroying her friend, because eventually it would have ended her relationship with Adrien, there is no other way. She would have seen how Marinette would compile lie after lie in order to keep up with the original lie. Alya would see how this would eat up Marinette.

Alya drew a line in the sand and said, "I can't watch you lie, I don't want you to lie and I need you to be truthful to me, you may not manipulate me." She wants her friendship based on trust.

Alya also knows that Marinette isn't a bad person, that above all else Marinette wants to be kind and helpful. She wants to be reliable and have the solution to the problem. She knows Marinette doesn't want anyone to suffer more than they should.

The biggest thing that Marinette has to learn, is that sometimes the solution the the problem isn't always going to be the happiest. Adrien knowing the truth will be hurtful, he may be angry, and sad, but its going to be the right thing so he understands how to move on from it and be a person better than his own father.

And all season we see him unable to get comfortable in that house. His stuff is in boxes. He can't figure out how to paint his walls. He doesn't feel at home there. The whole place already feels like a museum or mausoleum to his father's life. And suddenly he gets an idea. "What if it really WAS a museum?"
