alaia’s  features  soften  the  more  she  discerns  his  explanation  ,  even  with  his  light  jab  against  her  .  it’s  all  too  true  ,  however  ,  she  used  to  choke  down  the  nagging  conscience  breathing  down  her  neck  as  she  provides  herself  as  an  accessory  to  his  breaking  of  rules  .  ❛  i  wouldn’t  be  so  uptight  if  my  scholarship  isn’t  on  the  line  .  but  fine  ,  if  it  means  extending  more  of  my  help  to  prevent  you  from  spiraling  , then  i  won’t  badger  you  about  it  .   ❜   she  shrugs  ,  knowing  full  well  the  habit  as  such  die  hard  .  her  eyes  line  with  his  ,  finding  movements  suspicious  .   with  the  ball  dropped  ,  it  took  alaia  longer  to  speak  again  ,  waiting  for  him  to  scream  practical  joke  .  ❛  no  way  you’re  serious  . . .  ❜  though  she  likes  the  idea  of  having  to  drag  him  around  to  help  with  the  school  activities  she  drowns  herself  in  .   ❛  why  do  you  need  me  to  play  as  your  girlfriend  ?  don’t  you  have  girls  falling  at  your  feet ?  ❜  she  teases  ,   albeit  the  butterflies  in  her  stomach  becoming  too  palpable  to  ignore  .  ❛  well  ,  i  do  like  the  idea  of  bossing  you  around  ,  but  you  need  to  tell me  why  you  need  a  pretend  girlfriend  in  the  first  place  .  i  don’t  know  ,  maybe  having  a  real  one  sounds  less  complicated  .  ❜ 

admitting  to  having  a  huge  ego  that  precedes  any  form  of  self  -  awareness  matches  the  likes  of  caspian  ,  words  only  getting  caught  in  his  throat  at  the  realities  presented  to  him  .  he  can  never  say  that  he  expects  her  to  be  at  his  beck  and  call  ,  especially  when  he’s  trying  to  win  her  back  ,  so  he  digresses  .  ❛  i  still  love  you  ,  cora  .  i  know  i’ve  been  neglecting  our  relationship  in  the  past  ,  but  when  i  tell  you  i’ve  worked  hard  to  better  myself  ,  you  have  to  believe  me  .  ❜  caspian  was  desperate  ,  even  more  so  than  he  allows  for  anyone  to  witness  .  he  may  be  ruled  by  deep  -  rooted  vanity  ,  he  would  do  anything  to  correct  his  mistakes  with  cora  .   ❛  but  that’s  what  i’m  trying  to  say  ,  cora  .  i’ve  learned  to  be  better  ,  to  be  more  appreciative  of  you .  you  will just  have  to  let  me  show  you  .  ❜  sincerity  of  words  translate  to  movements  , fingers  try  and  touch  hers  as  he  attempts  to  lean  on  towards  their  former  intimacy  . 

it was inevitable to fall into her usual chemistry with jesper , even with the most absurd riddle in their midst .  ❛  not use condoms ?  i’m surprised you lasted this long without having a single jesper junior running around considering not everyone is on birth control . i can’t say the same about you lasting long in bed though .  ❜  she smiles sweetly at her own derision , unable to resist the opportunity when it presents itself so readily . daphne , while being heavily scheming of her decisions at work , freer persona relieves whenever she’s with jesper . though she never tells him , not wanting to boost his already large ego .  ❛  when have my ideas been terrible anyway ?  we obviously had too much fun , so much so we can’t fully remember anything . but , whatever happened , happened  . . .  unless you have a problem with that ?  ❜  they can joke and laugh at their situation all they want , but with the realities still up in the air , it’s important for daphne that this doesn’t strain their friendship .  ❛  that’s a bold statement , but i have no doubts that you’d only gape at me when i take you up on that offer .  ❜  her playful demeanor quickly subsides at the sudden gravity pulling at their conversation . daphne doesn’t know what to say , still hung up over the fact that they may or may not have had sex . it’s daunting having to be the first one to answer , not knowing what jesper thinks of their situation .  ❛  what doesn’t hurt our relationship doesn’t bother me , jesper .  ❜  she chooses a safe one , but her chest swells in curiosity now that they’ve decided to go there .  ❛  do you think they’re right ?  those people saying that , you know , we should date ?  ❜

mykel is a difficult person to deal with , he admits that , but having this temperament might destroy the relationship he has with the one person he considers vital to his life . he groans , wishing he is able to relay what he truly feels into words that are lucid to her — he knows she deserves that at the very least . but his brain is wired to appease the likes of his harsh father ; projecting that as his apathetic nature .  ❛  what do you want then , huh ? do you want me to say that i love you ?  that i am going to give a shot at romance ? that’s not me , alex .  ❜  he begins with an outrage , but slowly softens as he tries to explain his side . the last thing he wants is to scare her away , but managing emotions that have gone far without understanding them is harder than it seems .  ❛  but you’re not . you’re the person i’m probably bound with for the rest of my life because if i’m being honest , i can’t make a much deeper connection with anyone other than you .  ❜  and it was the truth . mykel is too hung up with the theatrics of his life—his career , his parents—he doesn’t have the capacity to know anyone else .  ❛  i know my habits precede me , a-and maybe i’ve been fooling around with other people , but these aren’t grounds on what our relationship is .  ❜
