Every startup or business today has to make this decision, whether to hire dedicated developers or in-house developers?
Although, each approach has its share of pros and cons, hiring a dedicated resource not only saves you recruitment costs but also time to market for your product. At the same time, you can enjoy real-time communication and complete transparency of development process.
Thus, the total cost of ownership is far lesser for a dedicated resource as you have to just pay for the hours worked and once the project is over, the expense stops.
To best understand the benefits of hiring dedicated developers, you need to know how onerous is the process of hiring in-house developers, which is depicted in the infographic below:

Website UX design - a driving force increasing customer loyalty
When buying items online started becoming as simple as just clicking a button, the age of eCommerce started and it has been rapidly advancing now. But with so many eCommerce websites emerging day by day, one needs a lot more than good products to gain a greater customer base. There has to be a unique element in the web shop that would attract customers towards your webshop and keep them away from competitor websites.
As mentioned before, every eCommerce has to stand out from the crowd in its own way to be successful. The key to standing out is to have an impressive website UX. No matter how good the products you offer are, without a guiding force for the user intuition, the content one needs to deliver will be a lost cause.
The task of providing a guiding force to user intuition to direct the user towards buying items online is accomplished by the website UX design.
The first question that comes to mind is what user experience is
In a single line, the UX design of a website is how the website responds to the actions that the user performs while interacting with the web application. The UX designer has to visualise the entire user journey and understand the user mentality while crafting the UX design. In fact, the user interface (UI) is also said to be a part of the UX design itself. In short, UX is actually a combination of 7 factors:
1. User needs: Any eCommerce always places the user needs on the top priority at all stages. The UX design has to be such that the layout conveys to the customers that they are in control and their needs are the centre of attention.
2. Information architecture: There has to be a very subtle yet clear way of giving the user all the information that the user may be interested in. The UX design determines how the user will find the information that he is looking for.
3. UI design: The page UI design is the way the user interacts with the web page. The design has to be easily navigable and have motion design added to it to convey every message to the user clearly and effortlessly.
4. Business objectives: Any webshop has to have a design such that all the business objectives are very clearly defined and satisfied. The UX design is responsible for fulfilling this.
5. Look and feel: The website that is designed specially for customers has to have a key factor - an appealing and welcoming look and feel. The theme, branding, design, style, and layout have to be friendly and comfortable and only then the user will explore the products the eCommerce has to offer.
6. Content: Again, every shred of content that the user goes through on the internet is meant for the user to gain information before making the purchase and make a well-informed decision. So, the content displayed on your website has to be very informative and very effectively presented. The content presentation requires careful planning and design and that comes under the purview of UX design.
7. Website behaviour: The way the webpage would respond to every cursor movement or every click of the user is the website behaviour and that also involves the complete sitemap.
All the 7 factors, combined together build the UX design of the website. A flaw in any one of the above factors will result in an unsatisfying UX design that would drive away customers from the website.
The next question that comes to mind is how UX contributes in gaining loyal customers.
UX design is undoubtedly said to be the key to the success of any eCommerce website. This is not at all an understatement. The sole aim of any eCommerce is to gain as many loyal customers as possible and reduce the cart abandonment rates.
Cart abandonment has several reasons and some of those are beyond the control of the eCommerce owner. But there are many that the UX of the website can solve. Some of the common reasons for cart abandonment are:
The payment process is too complicated
The same information is asked again and again
The user could not find what he or she was looking for easily.
The website is too slow and the user got tired of waiting.
The website is loaded with too many things, leaving the user confused.
The site map is not clear and users find trouble navigating.
The layout and theme of the website are too unwelcoming for the user
There are not enough payment options while checkout
All such reasons are due to a poor UX design and it is clear how it leads to cart abandonment. If the UX design is so made that a user does not face any of the above-mentioned situations, the business is sure to gain a lot of loyal customers.
Final words
Whether it is a mobile app design or a website design, enterprise applications need to pay extra attention to the UX design during the software development phase. If all the factors needed for a seamless user experience are not satisfied, users are more likely to abandon the website. The slightest of a discomfort while navigating through the website can lead to a rise in cart abandonment rates. So, to prevent your webshop from a downfall, do not compromise with the UX design.
As mankind evolved, every task that needed a human to put in efforts was optimised. One out of those task was shopping. Getting out in the sun, driving or taking a bus to the market and then going through the display shelves of the shop to find what one was looking for. The complete process obviously was very time-consuming. After the onset of the computer and smartphone age, the idea was to fit the complete shopping experience at the end of fingertips.
Thus evolved eCommerce.
The idea of selling or buying items through electronic medium can be dated back to 1991 when the internet was opened to commercial use. But it took a long-long time for this idea to gradually develop and reach a stage where it was easily accessible to the common people.
But once that stage was attained, eCommerce had a steep progress slope and is still progressing at a pretty impressive pace.
At present, eCommerce has reached a stage where one can easily replenish items of daily usage by just a single click. This is just a start of all the comforts that eCommerce is set out to offer.
Retailers today, are trying to take their businesses to another level by setting up webshops for attracting customers and expanding their sale range.
There are 5 technologies that will help eCommerce to slowly take over retail shops completely in future:
Internet of Things
Augmented Reality
Virtual Reality
Artificial Intelligence
Blockchain
These 5 technologies have been empowering several fields like entertainment, medical, industrial, manufacturing, and many more, with improvised experience. The world of eCommerce is opened up to a vast array of functionalities, making users’ shopping experience seamless and facilitate the sellers with an improvised business managing and marketing methods.
Here is an infographic that gives an idea of what these above-mentioned 5 technologies are capable of in the field of eCommerce.

ASP.NET Core 2.0 Features: What’s New, Fascinating and Significant?
Microsoft made available ASP.NET Core 2.0 as a final release on August 14, 2017. In today’s post we would take a look at the newly introduced features as mentioned below but the list is not exhaustive.
Razor Pages
Now coding page-focused scenarios will be easier and more productive at the same time with the newly introduced feature Razor Pages.
Razor is a markup syntax which enables to embed server based code into web pages. It consists of HTML, C# and Razor markup. The files which contain Razor usually ends with .cshtml extension.
ASP.NET Core metapackage
The earlier version ASP.NET Core came with an increased modularity but it had a downside that is ASP.NET specialists had to find and depend on a relatively large number of smaller packages. This has been addressed in the latest version ASP.NET Core 2 by introducing Microsoft.AspNetCore.All package.
Microsoft.AspNetCore.All package is a metapackage and it references to the following packages:
All ASP.NET Core packages.
All Entity Framework Core packages.
All dependencies used by ASP.NET Core and Entity Framework Core
Runtime store
If your applications use the Microsoft.AspNetCore.All metapackage then it can leverage the new .NET Core Runtime Store by default. All the runtime assets required to run ASP.NET Core 2.0 applications are included in the Store. In order to enhance application startup time, the assets in the Store are precompiled.
In other words, if you are using Microsoft.AspNetCore.All then automatically your published app will be smaller in size and with faster startup.
Improvements in Kestrel web server
New features have been introduced in the Kestrel web server; these features enrich it as an Internet-facing server. Also a number of server constraint configurations options have been added for the new property Limits for the class KestrelServerOptions.
Now you would be able to add limits for the following:
Minimum request body data rate
Maximum request body size
Maximum client connections
WebHost builder APIs
The WebHost builder APIs are basically static methods within the Microsoft.AspNetCore.All package which offers you various ways to create and start a WebHost with default configuration. This feature has been introduced in order to reduce the common code which is required by most of the ASP.NET Core applications.
Tag helper components
You can use the Tag Helper components either to generate or modify a specific block of HTML. The head and body of a page can be modified by using HeadTagHelper and BodyTagHelper by which all the registered tag helper components will be run.
Logging update
In the latest version, by default logging is integrated into the dependency injection (DI) system. You have to add providers and configure filtering in the Program.cs file and not the startup.cs file.
What’s your say on ASP.NET Core 2.0?
This list is not exhaustive! Did you try this latest version? Which features fascinated you the most? We would love to know your views. Please be the first to leave your comments below; you can also start a conversation here.
