The Great Promise

‘Cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you’ (1 Peter 5:7).

When we commit our way to the Lord Jesus, and trust Him in everyday matters of life, we can be confident that He will act. But how often do we try to do it our way and miss the best? If we really do believe that God loves us and cares for us with an interest in every detail of our lives, why is it that we find it difficult at times to ‘be still before the LORD and wait patiently for Him’ (Psalm 37:7). God wants us to let Him be the burden bearer and give us peace in such situations.

So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:9

I love the fact that God’s thoughts, plans, ways, methods, and strategies are infinitely higher and greater than my own. They are better in every way. They take me by surprise. They go where I could have never dreamed of. They surpass any and all expectations that I ever had.

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

“For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but My steadfast love shall not depart from you, and My covenant of peace shall not be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.

“Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” —John 15:4‭-‬5 (NIV)

“When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.”

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

Today we come to one of the most loved promises in the Bible, Romans 8:28. "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." This verse has helped people trust God through experiences that seemed utterly pointless and painful. People have held fast to the "all things" and believed the word of God – this too, this terrible thing, this seemingly pointless thing, will turn out for my good.
