Holy shit this got really funny to really sad really quick
rebump
oh my god it’s the real one. I’m so used to the stupid Skyrim edit.
nothing tumblr could post on r/ambien will ever be as funny as this:
if a guy rapes a girl and gets off with a “boys will be boys”, then i should be able to beat his fucking face in and get off with a “girls will be girls”
> if a guy rapes a girl and gets off with a “boys will be boys”
This never actually happens. Ever.
Of course, this is assuming you’re talking about actual rape, not some kid pulling on a girl’s pigtails in second grade.
It’s amazing the number of atrocities feminists have come to believe routinely accompany the expression “Boys Will be Boys”. I feel at some point they’re going to claim that’s what Germans say about the holocaust.
I believe this originated from rich frat boys who assaulted, or not, girls and the college used this phrase to handwave it away to continue to get funding from their parents.
If anything, this is a classism issue.
I've never seen a feminist provide a single actual example, so I doubt that.
There was one example, it was the judge more or less saying it when he let off a rich fuck, and the judge got fired for it.
Yeah the judge got fired for a shitty judgement.
I dont know any normal person that applies “boys will be boys” when a guy does some seriously fucked up shit rather than just like guys being dumb but ultimately only hurting themselves
@ boys:
if you say no, and they still kiss you, that’s not okay
if you say no, and they still get handsy with you, that’s not okay
if you say no, and they still make you have sex with them, that’s not okay
if you say no, and they do something to you physically or sexually that makes you uncomfortable, that’s not okay
if you say no, and they verbally make you feel bad about it, that’s not okay
if you say no, and they guilt you into doing something sexual with them, that’s not okay
if you say no, and they threaten you, whether verbally or physically, that’s not okay
it is so important for boys to know that they can be victims to sexual assault and abuse. so often are boys told that they are “lucky” if someone wants to be sexual with them and male victims of sexual assault dismissed because boys are supposed to, “like it.” this has to change. boys: you don’t deserve the abuse or assault you endure, nor are you weak because you felt like what was happening was wrong. it was wrong, and you are NEVER at fault for someone else taking advantage of you.
This post is incredibly tone-deaf.
@theexodvs how so?
Why does male positivity tilt you so much?
Is there something wrong with letting men know that they shouldn’t be okay with being pushed around, and taken advantage of?
Do tell, I’m dying to hear it
The original post was made within months after #meToo became prominent. As much as OP denies it, it is meant to distract from women’s victimization. If it wasn’t, they should’ve written it sometime before or a long time after.
The culture already tells guys that they shouldn’t be ok with being pushed around, or taken advantage of. We don’t do a good job telling ladies this, though.
??? No, no actually you’re full of shit. “If it wasn’t, they should’ve written it sometime before or a long time after”. God forbid a boy have something happen to him at the same time that something similar is happening to women, God forbid a boy need to hear something like this at the same time that a woman does because if you tell him than you’re detracting from women. That is literally the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard in my life.
No, no absolutely not. And no, in fact, we do not as a culture tell guys that they shouldn’t be okay with this shit. We tell them, as a culture, that 1) it doesn’t happen to them, 2) they should always want it anyway so who cares, 3) what kind of guy would get pushed around by a girl anyway (shaming them into silence), and 4) that their experiences are distracting from a conversation about girls. Just like you have done, right here and right now.
It does not take away from female victims to talk about male victims.
It does not take away from female victims to talk about male victims.
IT DOES NOT TAKE AWAY FROM FEMALE VICTIMS TO TALK ABOUT MALE VICTIMS.
And, considering we make all sorts of commentary about female victims, we had a whole #metoo movement about women and how this behavior is not okay with only the rare instance of saying “also it’s not okay for this to happen to men”, I do in fact think we do a fantastic job of telling ladies this. Women have heard it, they will keep hearing it because we’ll keep talking about it, because it’s important to keep saying it. And men need to hear it. And we’ll keep saying it, because it’s important and needs to continue being said.

Blake: There are no snacks left in the kitchen
Yang: I am literally right here

Why should they?
Why should they invest one dime in America if they dont want to?
Because they live here and the rest of us pay our due share?
Because that’s how a society works?
Because they’re using and taking?
There is so much wrong and economically-illiterate here that I scarcely know where to begin. Suffice it to say that just about everything on this post is almost 100% incorrect.
So the rich aren’t stockpiling wealth on offshore account?
Trickle down does work?
The rich shouldn’t pay taxes?
Feel free to educate, if you please.
Let’s go through it one at a time:

I understand where their tax rate is currently, which is higher than those making less than them, of course. What I don’t agree with are all the loopholes and bailouts, specifically for large corporations, that should be going to small businesses, which then suffer.
Sure you could argue it goes back into the american economy, however, again, still not through taxes, and WHERE that money goes depends on HOW they spend it! If it’s mostly lawyers for suing smaller businesses, then yeah it’s not going back to the little guy. Trickle down doesn’t work. This has been proven multiple times, it has been proven as we live and breath.

I do not have access to more wealth than my parents did at my age. Not at all. It may look like more because the number is larger but all the other numbers around me have grown much more.
Making 8 an hour compared to 2 an hour doesn’t mean much when a house that was 5k then is 100k now. Same with education, that’s skyrocketed as well. Same with vehicles.
Trickle down is a failure, I’m sorry.

this still cracks me up like can you imagine you’re 130 years old and suddenly a gigantic alien baby starts following you around
