also i was assuming they started working together from their early to mid-teens but according to a couple of frantic calculations they would have been children at the time of the Mud Lane Phantom Case. Approximately 12 years old. Which actually makes sense considering the specifics (george says occult theories didn't have "anything practical" ; marissa is mentioned to have swung a spade at the mud lane phantom), the interview and mention of Occult Theories being written when Marissa was "very young".
